VOLKSRUST WATER UPDATE
'We are fixing the heart of the system'
To all Volksrust residents and business owners - this one's for you.
The valves at our Water Treatment Works have been limping along the years. Leaking, sticking, robbing us of pressure. Today, that stops.
Contractors are on site right now, tearing out the old, broken valves and fitting new ones. Well, it's major surgery for our Town's water supply.
WHAT THIS MEANS FOR YOUR HOME AND YOUR SHOP
- Taps might run low or stop for a few hours over the next few days, while we cut over to the new system. This new valves mean fewer bursts, better pressure, and a water system that doesn't quit on you every season.
12 June 2026, is the final cut-off for this water technical activities, in particular replacement of valves. This is a work in progress, future activities that will impact on water supply will be communicated on this platform.
