Just a quick reminder on our Children's Rights according to the Children's Act 38 of 2005.
All children have the Right to:
1. Name and Nationality: The right to a name and nationality from birth.
2. Family Care: The right to family or parental care, or appropriate alternative care if removed from the family environment.
3. Basic Needs: The right to basic nutrition, shelter, basic health care services, and social services.
4. Protection: The right to be protected from maltreatment, neglect, abuse, and degradation.
5. Labor Protection: The right to not be subjected to exploitative labor practices or work that is inappropriate for the child’s age or harmful to their well-being.
6. Justice and Detention: The right to be detained only as a last resort, separated from adult offenders, and treated in a manner that takes the child's best interests into account.
7. Basic Education: Guaranteed under Section 29 of the Constitution, every child has the right to a basic education
