AbaQulusi Hosts Celebration of KZN Women in Law Enforcement

AbaQulusi Local Municipality Mayor, Cllr Sifiso Mkhwanazi, showed his support for female law enforcement officers from across KwaZulu-Natal this past weekend at a two-day conference hosted by the municipality.

Mayor Mkhwanazi emphasised the vital role women play in law enforcement, thanking them for their unwavering commitment and dedication.

“I know, at times, you work in unfavourable conditions, but you are expected to come back to your homes and act like nothing happened,” Mkhwanazi said.

The conference included both field exercises, such as roadblocks, and formal presentations.

Attendees included various emergency services stakeholders, including Women in SAPS, female traffic officers, paramedics, disaster management personnel, and firefighters. Visitors praised AbaQulusi's hospitality, declaring the event a success.

Beyond celebrating women in uniform, the event provided a boost to the local economy, as emergency management personnel from across the province filled local accommodations.
