Describing himself as a dedicated and goal-orientated infrastructure professional, Jacobs has built his career around finding practical solutions to complex challenges. His passion for infrastructure development stems from a simple yet powerful belief: roads and stormwater systems are essential to the daily lives of communities.

It is this understanding that has driven Jacobs throughout his career. His professional journey has provided him with a well-rounded understanding of infrastructure planning, maintenance and project implementation. A significant milestone in his career was serving within the Western Cape Government's Roads Infrastructure Department, where he gained valuable experience in road infrastructure management and maintenance.
Most recently, Jacobs served as Depot Manager at the City of Cape Town, overseeing the operations of the Parow and Goodwood depots. The position required him to manage teams, resources, maintenance programmes, operational budgets and service delivery objectives across a large geographic area. These experiences strengthened both his technical expertise and leadership abilities, while reinforcing the important role that effective infrastructure management plays in supporting communities and economic growth.
The opportunity to join Breede Valley Municipality was one he could not pass up.

Looking ahead, his goals include improving operational efficiency, promoting proactive infrastructure management and preventative maintenance, strengthening stakeholder engagement and supporting the municipality's long-term infrastructure development objectives. He is also committed to fostering a motivated, collaborative and high-performing team environment.
Ultimately, Jacobs says his focus is on ensuring that municipal infrastructure continues to support economic development while enhancing the quality of life of residents throughout the Breede Valley.
