WORLD VISION HOLDS EXIT MEETING IN KAPIRI MPOSHI DISTRICT
24 September 2026 — World Vision Zambia has held an exit meeting in Kapiri Mposhi District as part of the closure process for its Musosolokwe Area Development Programme (ADP), which covers Imansa, Lukanga and Mpunde Wards.
The Musosolokwe ADP is scheduled to come to an end on 30 September 2026, following several years of implementing development interventions aimed at improving the well-being of children and their families in the district.
Over the years, World Vision Zambia has worked closely with the Government of the Republic of Zambia, traditional leaders, community structures, cooperating partners and local communities to implement integrated development programmes across various sectors.
The interventions have included community engagement and the Sponsorship Plan, child protection, health and nutrition, integrated Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (iWASH), education, livelihoods, and community capacity strengthening.
As part of the programme closure process, World Vision Zambia convened a phase-out and transition meeting with key stakeholders to reflect on the programme's achievements, experiences and lessons learned, as well as discuss the transition of activities to local stakeholders.
Speaking during the meeting, Kapiri Mposhi District Commissioner Mr Francis Hassalama expressed gratitude to World Vision Zambia for the work it has undertaken in the district over the years.
Mr Hassalama highlighted several contributions made by World Vision, including the construction of schools and a health post, as well as support towards education and sanitation, particularly initiatives benefiting the girl child.
He, however, expressed sadness that the programme was coming to an end at a time when there was still much more that could be done to support communities in the district.
The meeting provided an opportunity for stakeholders to share comments, reflections and experiences, while recognising the achievements made by World Vision since the programme's inception.
Stakeholders also discussed the importance of sustaining the gains made under the Musosolokwe ADP and ensuring that communities and local structures continue to build on the interventions after World Vision's exit.
