A moment in history, right at the edge.

In 1855, David Livingstone was guided by local people to a small island on the Zambezi, where he became the first European to see the Falls. Standing there, he described it as “the most wonderful sight” he had witnessed.

Today, that same place is known as Livingstone Island.

Did you know? 🌊

Victoria Falls is one of the largest waterfalls on Earth, stretching 1,708 meters wide and plunging 108 meters deep, nearly twice the size of Niagara Falls.

Known locally as Mosi-oa-Tunya (“The Smoke That Thunders”), the falls were named Victoria Falls by David Livingstone in 1855 after Queen Victoria. The powerful spray creates a permanent rainforest climate around the gorge, with mist rising hundreds of meters into the air.

It’s also one of the few places in the world where you can witness a moonbow, a rare lunar rainbow formed during a full moon.

And during the dry season (Sept–Dec), the adventurous can swim right on the edge at Devil’s Pool.
