*LuWSI's participation at this year's World Water Week*
The LuWSI flag keeps going high and grateful to you all our partners for making it possible.
This year, we participated in the 2025 World Water Week in Stockholm, Sweden, under the theme *Water for Climate Action*
Our participation not only involved attendance but also involved hosting a session, during which participants discussed the important role that private sector plays in the sector and how we can create an enabling environment to enable them to participate and invest in our sector. The session was graced by the *Head of Water and Circular Economy Division from BMZ, Germany, Mr. Lars Selwig*
Our panelists included Ms. Bubala Muyovwe, Coordinator of the NGO WASH Forum, Ms. Adjoa Parker, Country Coordinator of the GIZ Natural Resources Stewardship Program, Dr. Duncan Elliot Tembo, Chairperson of the Kafue Flats Joint Action Group (KFJAG) and Ms. Chilala Hankuku from Infoquest Consulting Firm.
The conversation explored some of the barriers/challenges to private sector participation and investment across the globe, solutions to these barriers and most importantly how we can create an enabling environment for the private sector to invest and participate in water development, sanitation and hygiene services.
As a multi-stakeholder platform, we continue to demonstrate the value of collaboration in the sector. Through this session, it was evident that the private sector felt the need to get involved and collaborate with other players to address water related risks. π¦
Much gratitude to the sponsors of this session, the GIZ Natural Resources Stewardship Program, and all the partners present ππ½
