Do you remember the feeling you get when you're left out from an activity or when you feel less than others? This book - The Day You Begin by Jacqueline Woodson - will teach your child about courage and bravery. The author carefully selects situations that most children can relate to such as being left out in a game or fearing to participate in class activities.

The story teaches kids about being brave and courageous to begin to share their story. They'll be surprised that when they do, they'll be met by others half way because we all have little bits about us that are similar to others and lots that are different from others.

Other lessons kids will learn from this story include inclusiveness, kindness, accepting and appreciating differences, courage and bravery to speak for others and to tell our stories among others.
