Saying farewell today to Mme Cheswa Silwizya, Chief of Protocol at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and to Mr Douty Chibamba, PS at the Ministry of Green Economy and Environment.

Both of them have been excellent colleagues; professional, diligent, active and very friendly. I have always enjoyed working with them.

I was privileged and happy to join the important Thursday launch of Transparency International Zambia’s new report on Corruption Risk Assessment in the Social Cash Transfer Programme.

It’s a very interesting report with hands-on recommendations to the GRZ.

The findings were discussed openly and frankly by Ms Angela Kawandami, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry for Community Development and Social Services and the Ms Daphne Chabu, DG at ACC. Really good discussion!

It was also my opportunity to say farewell to Mr Maurice Nyambe, Executive Director of TI-Z, with whom I have worked a lot over the past few years and really have come to appreciate!

I am deeply saddened by the news of the passing of former VP Guy Scott. I met him several times and really appreciated his insights. Clearly a very important man for Zambia.

My thoughts today are with his family.
