New Special Forces' Operators Inducted into the Elite Corps

The grounds of the Special Forces Training School (SFTS) in Mbala district were yesterday , 02 May, 2025, filled to capacity as a new cohort of elite operators was formally being inducted into the ranks of Zambia Army Special Forces Corps.
The induction parade of intake 10/2024 of special forces trainees, a symbolic culmination of arduous training, was graced by the Minister of Defence, Honourable Ambrose Lwiji Lufuma.
Upon arrival, Mr Lufuma was accorded a quarter guard mounted by the special forces operators at the Training School.
The atmosphere was thick with anticipation as the Minister, flanked by Commander Zambia Army, Lieutenant General Geoffrey Choongo Zyeele and 3 Special Forces Group Commander, Brigadier General Charles Swana, took his place on the saluting dias.
Parade Commander, Major Rodger Mwewa Kalale, then commanded the parade to present arms for a general salute as the resonant strains of the national anthem played by 3 Infantry Battalion's Brass Band filled the air. Every uniformed member present stood in respectful salute, an honour befitting the Reviewing Officer.
The solemnity of the occasion deepened as Lieutenant Colonel Sydney Mwewa, the Director of Programmes and Zambia Army Director of Public Relations, invited Brigadier General (Reverend) Shadreck Mwale, the Director General of Religious and Moral Services Branch, to open the ceremony with a Word of prayer.
Before commencing, Brigadier General Mwale requested a moment of silent reflection in honour of the three fallen trainees who had tragically lost their lives during the demanding training period.
This poignant moment served as a stark reminder of the sacrifices inherent in the pursuit of excellence within the Special Forces.
