We have achieved our original goal which was to knit 100 jumpers and cardigans for AIDS affected African babies and orphaned children. They were delivered directly to orphanages and hospitals in Ethiopia via an Australian family who have personal connections there . This family is now not able to help us with distribution of garments. We are NOT a Collection Agency, but we have built a following f
rom around the globe of knitters keen to help and do our best to share information and contacts as they are sent to us. Please contact me if you know of any Collection Points anywhere in the world. We encourage knitters of all ages and abilities to join in, and to check with the contacts we have in various countries if they are able to take them from you to pass them on in Africa. You can post knitted items direct to Africa. Please mark the parcel as "gift only, of no commercial value. "*

Many thanks indeed. The children will be most grateful . You can find simple jumper patterns by scrolling back through posts in this group. More Patterns are found on the page for KAS ( Knit-a-square ) They also have details of where to send items.
*Please search through posts to find contacts in various countries ( posts April 30 2020) where you can send items ( pays to check first if they are currently being accepted)
We'd love you to post a photo of your handcrafted garment when it is finished to inspire others. Bright colours, stripes and and patterns are encouraged. Thank you to all the wonderful people who have contributed and helped distribute the warmth to the children.
