FIVE CANDIDATES FOR FINAL PROFESSION SIGN DECLARATION OF RENUNCIATION OF TEMPORARY GOODS
The Congregation of the Franciscan Missionary Sisters of Service today held a solemn ceremony at the Civic Centre, Mufulira, where five candidates for Final Profession signed the Declaration of Renunciation of Temporal Goods.
The declarations were made ahead of their Final Vows, which is in accordance with Constitution Chapter 11, 16, and Code of Canon Law 702, 1,2. Through this act, the candidates formally renounced the administration and use of all temporal goods in their possession now and in the future, in whatever form.
The signing took place in the presence of the Town Clerk, Mrs. Kasonde Chisanga Musongole, who witnessed the commitment of the candidates to a life of service, poverty, and dedication to the mission of the Church.
In her remarks, Mrs. Musongole commended the candidates for their courage and faith, noting that such a solemn commitment reflects values of selflessness, discipline, and service to humanity that are vital to community development.
The Superior General and members of the Congregation present expressed gratitude to all stakeholders and to the community for their continued support to the Franciscan Missionary Sisters of Service.
The Congregation continues to serve in education, health, and pastoral work across the district and beyond.
