Update on the Ballot Papers for Sesheke District

The truck carrying the ballot papers will be stationed at the Civic Centre overnight. The offloading of the ballot papers will take place tomorrow Thursday, 6 August 2026, at 08:00 hours.

The Zambia Police Service will provide security for the truck throughout the night. In addition, ten representatives from each stakeholder group will be present to witness the custody of the ballot papers overnight.

The truck carrying the ballot papers has now reached Simungoma and has joined the tarmac road to Sesheke District. The truck is expected to arrive in Sesheke at approximately 20:00 hours

Electoral Commission of Zambia Commences Poll Staff Training in Sesheke.

The Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) in Sesheke District has today commenced a three day training programme for Poll Staff ahead of the 2026 General Elections slated for Thursday, 13th August, 2026.

The training is aimed at equipping Poll Staff with the knowledge, practical skills, and competencies required to effectively and professionally discharge their duties at polling stations during the elections.

Officially opening the training, Sesheke District Electoral Officer, Mr. Collins Simoonga, urged the participants to actively engage in the sessions, ask questions where necessary, and fully acquaint themselves with the electoral procedures and guidelines that will govern polling day operations.

Mr. Simoonga emphasized that well trained Poll Staff are essential to the delivery of credible, transparent, and efficient elections, and encouraged the trainees to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, impartiality, and integrity throughout the electoral process.

The Poll Staff training will run for three days, from Wednesday, 5th August to Friday, 7th August 2026, after which the participants will be deployed to their respective polling stations in readiness for the 2026 General Elections to be held next week on 13th August, 2026.

Arrival of ballot papers for Sesheke District

The truck carrying ballot papers has just started off from Mulobezi, now coming to Sesheke. Expected to arrive at around 19:00 hours in Sesheke .

ECZ Update

Sesheke District will soon receive the ballot papers for the 2026 General Elections.

All stakeholders are requested to be at the Civic Centre to witness the receipt of the ballot papers once the ballot papers come, as previously communicated.

The vehicle carrying the consignment is currently in Mulobezi District. After delivering the ballot papers there, it will proceed to Sesheke District.
