𝗦𝗧𝗖 𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗖𝗨𝗥𝗘𝗦 𝗧𝗟𝗕 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗙𝗨𝗘𝗟 𝗕𝗢𝗪𝗦𝗘𝗥 𝗨𝗡𝗗𝗘𝗥 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗖𝗗𝗙

Sinda Town Council has procured a Tractor Loader Backhoe (TLB) and a 5-tonne fuel bowser fitted with an electric pump under the 2026 Constituency Development Fund (CDF) for Kapoche Constituency at a total cost of K2,343,200.

The procurement of the two pieces of equipment is aimed at enhancing service delivery and strengthening the district's capacity to undertake infrastructure development and maintenance works.

The fuel bowser will facilitate the efficient storage and transportation of fuel, while the TLB will be used for various construction and maintenance activities, including road rehabilitation, drainage construction, earthworks, and other community development projects.

The Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) officially launches the 2026 General Election Publicity and Voter Education Campaign.

The campaign is being launched by ECZ Chairperson Mrs. Mwangala Zaloumis SC at the Mulungushi International Conference Centre as part of the Commission’s efforts to enhance voter awareness and encourage active citizen participation ahead of the 2026 General Election.

This important initiative aims to equip citizens with accurate and timely electoral information, empowering them to make informed decisions and participate effectively in the democratic process.

38 VOTER EDUCATION FACILITATORS DEPLOYED ACROSS SINDA DISTRICT

The Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) in Sinda District has deployed 38 Voter Education Facilitators (VEFs) to all 19 wards as part of efforts to ensure that every eligible citizen is informed and prepared to participate in the forthcoming General Elections scheduled for 13th August 2026.

The facilitators successfully completed a five-day training programme held from 25th to 29th May 2026. During the training, they were equipped with knowledge and skills to help communities better understand the electoral process and the importance of taking part in elections.

Speaking before the deployment, District Electoral Officer Mary Chongo, encouraged the facilitators to carry out their duties with professionalism, impartiality and dedication.

She reminded them that voter education plays a vital role in strengthening democracy by ensuring that citizens have access to accurate and reliable electoral information.

Mrs Chongo also called on residents across Sinda District to welcome the facilitators into their communities and actively engage with them. She noted that the voter education sessions provide an opportunity for members of the public to ask questions and gain a better understanding of the electoral process.

The facilitators have since been deployed to their respective wards, where they will work closely with communities to promote informed participation in the 2026 General Elections.
