Dear Honourables Joana Ruvimbo Mamombe and Bridget Nyandoro.
You have both shown that you are great politicians. You have managed to expose the bigger picture of the s*xual abuse of the girl child in our society. It’s unfortunate that these things happened to people like both of you. The issue of men demanding s*x from women for job or any other favour is inherent in our country and must now be criminalized or policies put in place through your able workplace which is the parliament of Zimbabwe 🇿🇼.
The wounds you have are an everyday wound to every girl child in our country, be it in churches, schools, parliament, ministries, markets like Mbare Musika, kombis, bars, concerts, funeral gatherings etc. Don’t fight yourselves, take this fight to the perpetrators. You are both victims in this case and should now be the shining lights of every girl child. You have a lot to change in our country through your workplace which is the parliament.
The girl child is bleeding 🩸 and blaming itself. The perpetrators are even busy taking sides to make both of you lose focus. There will never be a winner between victims of s*xual harassment like both of you and many others likely 98% of our women. A win will come when both of you stand together as victims in parliament and table a bill to deal with this cancer ♋️ once and for all. Take lessons from our own Kenyan daughter-in-law, fellow parliamentarian and MP from Kenya 🇰🇪 Hon Millie Mabona. She is a good example to emulate when it comes to the issues affecting the girl child. She is a member of Hon Raila Odinga’s ODM party.
Meet, make peace ✌🏻, share a coffee ☕️ and come up with a strategy to take this national disaster killing our girl child to parliament. Sexual predators and abusers should find no place in our institutions, churches, schools, political parties and even our roads. My office is open for both of you to consult with me in this matter.
