Bulawayo Public Library

Bulawayo Public Library Good Books Good Friends... The BPL is open to everyone as long as they join as readers. Our reader population is currently above ten thousand people.

Founded in 1896, Bulawayo Public Library (BPL) is a Private Voluntary Organization registered in terms of the Welfare Act (Chapter 93). Unlike other Libraries such as those of colleges and universities which although open to public use have borrowing privileges only restricted to their students and staff. The readers are from communities within Bulawayo, the countryside and other towns. These read

ers are made up of school children of all levels, colleges and university students, researchers and those who read for leisure.
