Yesterday, the caring MDC Alliance President Nelson Chamisa sent a high powered delegation to Masvingo urban to give solidarity to councillor Godfrey Kuraone who is in remand prison.
The MDC Alliance high powered delegation comprises MDC Alliance main wing National Secretary of Welfare leader Maureen Kademaunga, MDC Alliance National youth Secretary for legal and parliamentary affairs advocate Agency Gumbo, Chiredzi councillor
Gilbet Mtubuki who is also National youth Secretary for lands and agriculture and leader Desmond who is national director in MDC Alliance social welfare department.
The delegation drove from Harare yesterday.
At the Masvingo Magistrate court, Masvingo Remand Prison officials only allowed advocate Agency Gumbo to see and talk with MDC Alliance National youth organiser Godfrey Kuraone in private.
Secretary of social welfare leader Maureen Kademaunga and other leaders managed to see at a distance. Masvingo Remand Prison officials cited covid-19 as the main reason why other MDC Alliance National leaders could not speak to councillor Kuraone.
Earlier, MDC Alliance National youth organiser Godfrey Kuraone arrived at Magistrate court guarded by armed prison officials. He was in leg chains and his hands were handcuffed.
Masvingo MDC Alliance provincial, district and branch leaders, ward 4 residents, civil society, his family and church leaders came to Masvingo Magistrate court to give solidarity.
However, many people who came to give solidarity only saw councillor Kuraone as he was disembarking from the Masvingo Remand Prison vehicle.
In the courtroom, only few people were allowed.
