Their groundbreaking work has firmly established Black studies as a rigorous, scholarly field with deep roots in ancient history and ongoing relevance. Their teaching embodies the true spirit of education, going beyond mere information dissemination to shape the self-perception and worldview of Black people. As we acknowledge the contributions of educators this week, we honor their unwavering commitment to truthful teaching, intellectual rigor, and community empowerment. This distinguished program supports Zimbabwean academics pursuing postdoctoral research or curriculum development at leading U.S. universities and research institutions — expanding expertise, strengthening global networks, and elevating the institutions they return to serve.

𝐄𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐑𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬:
• Zimbabwean citizen or permanent resident eligible to hold a valid Zimbabwean passport
• Doctorate required for research grants
• Master’s degree required for curriculum development
• Dissertation research and immediate post-PhD research are not eligible
• Previous applicants may re-apply with revised proposals and updated materials

This is more than academic advancement. It is an opportunity to refine ideas that shape industries, mentor the next generation of leaders, and strengthen Zimbabwe’s contribution to global scholarship.

Visa processing for selected participants is managed separately through the Fulbright Program, after candidates are selected and approved.
