Kukosha

She arrived at our office around 330pm. I saw her from the upstairs window leaning over and trying to hold her baby at the same time . I went down and went through the routine of logging her details and handing over the needed formula for her baby. She was not in a rush to leave and asked if she could talk to me. As she shared her story and current despair my heart broke for this tiny girl as tears rolled down her face . 17 years old. Alone. Teen mum . No income. Health challenges. I think she probably weighs less than my 10’yr old son. The words that really hit home were these, “no one cares, no one sees me, no one comes”. She carries her baby in a pouch she found on a rubbish heap.
Kukosha means something unique, something special, something precious. My parting words to her were that she is not alone. We see her. We care. We will come . Please consider partnering with us as we seek to serve the most vulnerable in our communities at this time . Basic food items are an urgent priority #Kukosha

Freedom comes from Knowledge
What is Human Trafficking? Human trafficking, is a crime in whichcrimnals trade in human beings to make a profit. That could mean forcing or tricking people into forced labour, sexual exploitation or begging. Trafficking violates human rights in which individuals are deprived of their humanity and basic freedom.
WHAT IS FORCED LABOUR: INTERNATIONAL LABOUR ORGANIZATION(ILO) defines forced labour, which is also known as involuntary servitude as "when someone is made to work against their free will, coerced by their recruiters or employes" for example through violence, or by more subtle means such as accumalated debt, retention of identity papers or threats of denounciation to immigration authoritiesl. Lured by false promises offering opportunities for a better life at least 550 000
children, adolescents and youth have become victims of trafficking in Latin America and the Caribbean.

LETS ALL JOIN THE STRUGGLE TO COMBAT HUMAN TRAFFICKING WERE COUNTING ON YOU
