Speaking at the Tourism Investment Forum during the Sanganai/Hlanganani/Dzimbahwe Tourism Expo, the Guest of Honour, the Minister of Finance, Economic Development and Investment Promotion, Prof. Mthuli Ncube, outlined a transformative vision for scaling up Destination Zimbabwe.

In this brief, Prof. Mthuli Ncube makes a compelling call for the government to invest heavily in Air Zimbabwe's domestic fleet expansion to smoothly connect key routes like Kariba, Harare, Gweru, Masvingo, and Buffalo Range.

Drawing directly from his personal journey of building a lodge in Matopo while living in Switzerland, he issues a powerful invitation to the Zimbabwean diaspora to invest back home. Most importantly, he stresses that true investment success must always protect our heritage and prioritize local communities by creating jobs and sustainable value.

His Excellency, President Dr. Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa, has arrived at the Gymkhana Events and Conference Centre in Masvingo Province for the official opening of the Sanganai/Hlanganani Dzimbahwe World Tourism Expo.

The Sanganai/Hlanganani Dzimbahwe World Tourism Expo serves as a vital economic catalyst by driving foreign direct investment, creating jobs, and accelerating infrastructure development across Zimbabwe by bringing hundreds of premier international buyers and travel operators directly into the country.
The expo secures lucrative global bookings and generates foreign currency inflows that stimulate downstream hospitality and transport value chains.

Under the Second Republic, led by H.E. President Mnangagwa, the showcase is being rotated to champion the national devolution agenda, upgrading regional infrastructure such as roads and airports while providing local small-and-medium enterprises (SMEs), crafters, and cultural groups with direct access to a global marketplace.

The premier showcase elevates Zimbabwe's destination visibility, translating international interest into long-term economic growth and community empowerment.

Zimbabwe and the Kyrgyz Republic held their inaugural Political Consultations in Bishkek this Tuesday, marking an important milestone in the deepening and broadening of bilateral relations between the two countries.

The consultations were co-chaired by Ambassador Albert R. Chimbindi, the Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of the Republic of Zimbabwe, and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The consultations provided an opportunity for both sides to undertake a comprehensive review of the state of bilateral relations and identify areas for enhanced cooperation. Discussions covered bilateral political relations, trade and investment, economic cooperation, and people-to-people exchanges, with both sides expressing interest in strengthening institutional frameworks and exploring new opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation.

On multilateral cooperation, Zimbabwe and Kyrgyzstan noted their shared commitment to strengthening coordination within the United Nations and other multilateral fora.

Of particular significance, both countries have been elected to serve as non-permanent members of the United Nations Security Council for the 2027โ€“2028 term. The consultations therefore provided a timely platform to explore closer coordination and consultation on issues before the Council, including international peace and security, while respecting each countryโ€™s national positions and priorities.

The two sides also exchanged views on regional and international security developments, including matters affecting their respective regions. They discussed opportunities for greater cooperation between Africa and Central Asia, recognising the importance of strengthening South-South cooperation, promoting development partnerships, and enhancing dialogue between the two regions.

The inaugural consultations reaffirmed the mutual interest of Zimbabwe and Kyrgyzstan in deepening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation into new areas of common interest. Both sides underscored the importance of maintaining regular political dialogue and consultations as a mechanism for advancing bilateral cooperation and coordinating positions on matters of mutual interest at the multilateral level.
