HIS EXCELLENCY PRESIDENT DR. E.D MNANGAGWA COMMISSIONS THE UNIVERSITY OF ZIMBABWE SPECIAL MEDICAL CENTRE IN AVONDALE

His Excellency President Dr ED Mnangagwa is today expected to officially commission the University of Zimbabwe Specialist Medical Centre, marking another milestone in the institution’s drive to foster innovation, advance product development and transform research ideas into practical solutions.
The commissioning reflects the University’s commitment to fulfilling its mandate under the Heritage-Based Education 5.0 model, which emphasises the production of goods and services while promoting innovation, industrialisation and national development.

Government to Distribute 35,000 Tractors Under Nationwide Rural Mechanisation Drive

The Government is intensifying efforts to distribute a consignment of 35,000 tractors one for each of the country's villages—as part of a nationwide rural mechanisation programme aimed at modernising agriculture, increasing productivity, and strengthening national food security ahead of the forthcoming summer cropping season.
The ambitious initiative will see every one of Zimbabwe's approximately 35,000 villages equipped with at least one small tractor, in line with the objectives of the National Development Strategy 2 (NDS2), which prioritises agricultural transformation and rural economic development.
The programme is designed to support Village Business Units (VBUs) across the country by shifting communities from traditional subsistence farming towards productive, commercially oriented agricultural enterprises.

Today H.E President E.D Mnangagwa presided over the official launch of the African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM) National Programme of Action, reaffirming Zimbabwe's commitment to good governance, sustainable development, and the aspirations of the African Union's Agenda 2063.
The programme provides a strategic roadmap for strengthening transparency, accountability, and inclusive socio-economic transformation through collective national effort.
Zimbabwe also expressed confidence in Uganda's leadership of the APRM and thanked President Yoweri Museveni for
supporting Zimbabwe's bid for a non-permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council, highlighting the importance of African solidarity and cooperation.

HIS EXCELLENCY PRESIDENT E.D MNANGAGWA COMMISSIONS THE FINEALT BIO-ECONOMY INDUSTRIAL PARK

The industrial park will harness locally available natural resources and by-products, predominantly sourced from Mashonaland East Province, to produce value-added products while strengthening community participation and promoting inclusive economic growth within the province.
The biodiesel processing plant is projected to produce 22,000 litres of biodiesel daily, while the cooking oil processing facility will have the capacity to process 6,000 tonnes of sunflower seed each year. The industrial park will also include a soap manufacturing plant producing bar soap, soap tablets and detergents. In a subsequent phase of development, a livestock feed production plant will be established to further expand the park's value addition and manufacturing capacity.

The initiative underscores Government’s continued commitment to promoting meaningful youth participation in national development and decision-making processes.
