Hi Everyone,
We are going to meet this Sunday 27th February at St Giles on Drummond Chaplin Road, just around the corner from Wilkins Hospital. We meet at 10 am for a 10.30 am start. Bring your own tea or drink, a plate of eats to share, chair, hat and any plants you wish to donate to the St Giles waterwise Garden project. Chairman Hans Wolbert would like all members to become involved if at all possible and we have already received generous donations of rock, sand, gravel and soil and many plants, but many more will be needed. So come and see what other gardeners have already done and hear what ACSSZ has planned. We have been working closely with Tawny Stidolph, President of the National Association of Garden Clubs of Zimbabwe in coming up with our plan. St Giles as you all know is critical institution that helps youngsters with congenital problems, accident victims, stroke sufferers, victims of war wounds and many others recover and cope with day to day life. The idea is to have an area of garden that is waterwise, a blaze of colour in winter and that is user-friendly for all whether wheelchair bound on crutches or just unsteady. So come and meet at St Giles which is just off Josiah Chinamano Avenue up Drummond Chaplin Road going towards Old Hararians Sports Club. There will also be a technical talk by Manfred Spindler. See you there. Covid protocols apply.

Hi Everyone, Just in time for tomorrow's big event. A practical demonstration on how to rustle up a simple, effective Valentine's Day table decoration for the big Dinner you are all undoubtedly planning for tomorrow. There is no excuse it took Mike and Neels Scott only half an hour or so to collect the bits and pieces and put this stunning arrangement together recently. And the beauty of succulent ingredients is that not only can you spray paint them for extra effect, but you can also plant them out later either in the garden or in suitable containers. The filler leaves and other decorative bits can go into the compost heap.

Aloe, Cactus and Succulent Society of Zimbabwe We are trying something new for the Society. We took a video at Brian and Barbara Terry's garden in Greystone Park on their spring flower collection. Hopefully this works for you, although not really the sort of p-lants that we keep under our ambit, I am sure all members have an interest in any kind of garden plant life. It is a very large file so be warned and I am not sure how long it takes to download, nor what your options are to reduce the file when you want to view it. We shall all learn as we go along and feedback will be welcome.

Good morning all. Looking for recommendations for where to find large, established aloes/ cacti for a new garden at a reasonable price. many thanks, happy Saturday
Dear succulent lovers. Please also have a look at our page if you don't mind. We are trying to draw attention to the current succulent poaching problem. Your help to spread awareness would be much appreciated! Thank you!

Hello. Please could you tell me the name of this aloe. Sorry the flowers are not great.
Looking for Cactus Fruit Pears.
"A small pe**te garden had been established by an unknown indigenous person long ago and despite the difficulties of growing in the highly alkaline mineral soil the plants were healthy but very slow growing. Similarly the same conditions made seedling recruitment difficult yet a small number managed to establish themselves. It was the only such site ever discovered in such a soil and has been known for well over half a century.

This and all of its companions in that old Native American garden site were recently discovered to have been taken by a poacher. The lack of evidence of cut stems suggests that they may have been removed by a cactus collector rather than harvested. The poacher took every single plant so this unique site is now extirpated. This was the last remaining example of the three known deliberate plantings of pe**te by Native Americans prior to modern times so more than just the plants were lost."

Hello, i am from Croatia and looking for wholesale suculent without roots. Send me prices and pictures in PM. Thx.
Looking for a few golden barrel cacti to buy. Where can I grab a few in Harare?
Evening, where can i get affordable succulents in harare?
Good morning. I'm looking recommendations for someone who can help us revamp our small cactus garden. Much appreciated! Kindly, Kathy
Hello good people. I am starting to do some landscaping on a brand new yard so looking for tree (including fruit), shrub, forbes, vines and grass seedlings, interesting and flowering plants especially succulents for those who are pruning or have overgrown your spaces. I prefer indigenous species but will take exotic if you have those. Willing to pay but not the exorbitant prices being charged by nurseries ๐Ÿ™ˆ
Can someone identify this aloe for me please? Thanks!
