Aloe, Cactus and Succulent Society of Zimbabwe We are trying something new for the Society. We took a video at Brian and Barbara Terry's garden in Greystone Park on their spring flower collection. Hopefully this works for you, although not really the sort of p-lants that we keep under our ambit, I am sure all members have an interest in any kind of garden plant life. It is a very large file so be warned and I am not sure how long it takes to download, nor what your options are to reduce the file when you want to view it. We shall all learn as we go along and feedback will be welcome.

I love pachypodiums and have collected a couple over the years. I got some seeds last November from Sharon Hook at her house during our annual Aloe, cactus succulent society Christmas party. I then used the this link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jumuAytjMsI and followed the instructions on how to grow them. Instead of the plastic cover on each individual pot, I placed my pots in my mini greenhouse. IT WAS REALLY EASY!!!!! 6 months later, I have success, I got about 50 plants!!!! I have posted below the pachypodium plant (from google) for those who don't know it! (Absolutely stunning isnt it!!🥰🥰🥰. You can have it in your garden landscape or as a potted plant. I have also posted the flower, the pods and what the seeds look like. Lastly, my babies!!! I cant wait till they are older!

Thank you Andy de Wet from The ALOE FARM, for this recipe to eradicate white scale.

White scale on aloes will eventually kill them and spread to your other aloes. Malasol + Oleum + G49 is an Excellent cocktail for scale insects.

"A small peyote garden had been established by an unknown indigenous person long ago and despite the difficulties of growing in the highly alkaline mineral soil the plants were healthy but very slow growing. Similarly the same conditions made seedling recruitment difficult yet a small number managed to establish themselves. It was the only such site ever discovered in such a soil and has been known for well over half a century. This and all of its companions in that old Native American garden site were recently discovered to have been taken by a poacher. The lack of evidence of cut stems suggests that they may have been removed by a cactus collector rather than harvested. The poacher took every single plant so this unique site is now extirpated. This was the last remaining example of the three known deliberate plantings of peyote by Native Americans prior to modern times so more than just the plants were lost."

Hello good people. I am starting to do some landscaping on a brand new yard so looking for tree (including fruit), shrub, forbes, vines and grass seedlings, interesting and flowering plants especially succulents for those who are pruning or have overgrown your spaces. I prefer indigenous species but will take exotic if you have those. Willing to pay but not the exorbitant prices being charged by nurseries 🙈
