EducationUSA in partnership with Elevate Trust are recruiting current university students for the Opportunity Funds program. The program will assist 3rd and 4th year STEM students in Zimbabwean universities to apply to U.S. postgraduate programs. Selected students will be supported with mentorship, and application costs to complete the application process. If a student secures a place and a scholarship they receive air tickets and a settling in allowance. PLEASE NOTE- this program does not guarantee scholarships for participants.

Simbi is a biomedical engineering student at Bucknell University. She is originally from Gweru, Zimbabwe where she graduated from Thornhill High School in 2017 and joined the EducationUSA Opportunity Funds Program in 2018. She grew up aspiring to work in the medical field and volunteered at the Gweru Provincial Hospital after high school. Simbi has an undying passion for improving human health by developing cutting-edge medical devices. At Bucknell, Simbi is driven to develop skills that will allow her to contribute to the exciting technological advancements in the medical field. She is a recipient of the Reed-Garman Engineering Entrepreneurship Award at Bucknell for doing research on asthma management in low resource areas and designing an asthma drug delivery device to help improve severe asthma treatment. At Bucknell, Simbi works in the Diversity and Inclusion Office, is the International Affinity House leader and part of the Bisonettes Dance Team. Simbi applied to Bucknell because it has a strong engineering program and Bucknell is a small school which allows her to form close relationships with her professors.

This is the official page for EducationUSA in Zimbabwe. Our Advising Centers are based at the US Embassy, Westgate in Harare, NUST-American Space in Bulawayo ,Gweru Memorial Library and in Mutare at the Turner Memorial Library. EducationUSA provides current, comprehensive and accurate information about studying in the United States. We are part of the U.S. Embassy and run a membership-based center that works closely and individually with students to ensure that they are successful in individually identifying appropriate colleges and universities, completing the application requirements for those universities and financing their education. We host a variety of workshops as well as weekly "Food for Thought" seminars held on Tuesday afternoons at 3pm in Harare, Wed at 2pm in Gweru, Thurs at 2pm in Bulawayo and Friday at 2pm in Mutare.
