On the sidelines of the ICT Strategy Workshop, the team conducted a familiarisation tour of the Rehabilitation Centre to gain a deeper appreciation of the specialised services offered to clients and to better understand the operational environment in which the Centre functions. The visit provided an opportunity for the team to engage staff members, appreciate service delivery processes and identify how technology can further support patient care, records management, communication and operational efficiency. Discussions also focused on the Centre’s current ICT infrastructure, challenges and opportunities for digital transformation.

The team had site of the newly established Prosthetic Centre, a significant development that is expanding the Authority’s capacity to provide specialised rehabilitation support. During the visit, the team witnessed the remarkable work being done to restore mobility, independence and dignity to clients through the provision of prosthetic and assistive devices. The dedication and professionalism demonstrated by the specialists underscored the life-changing impact of rehabilitation services and the importance of strengthening institutional support through innovative and responsive ICT solutions.

The engagement formed part of ongoing efforts to ensure that the ICT Strategy remains aligned to the practical needs of business units across the Authority. The tour reinforced the importance of collaboration between ICT and operational teams in building an integrated, responsive and future-ready digital ecosystem that enhances service delivery and improves the experience of both staff and clients.

Ever heard of “change blindness”? It’s when workers fail to notice small changes in their environment because they are focused on routine tasks. That loose cable, missing guard, or new spill might go completely unnoticed until it causes harm.
At work, do not rely on memory alone. Pause. Scan. Reset your attention before every task.

Stay alert. Stay protected.
