The Union of Great Zimbabweans (UGZ) is a political Movement registered with The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission.We believe in good governance,accountability,transparency and that we all have obligations to each other, to our neighbours and our communities to rebuild our country. We need to take up the responsibility to rebuild our country and stop the blame game and to ask ourselves, wh
at we can do for our country and fellow countrymen? Each of us has a role to play in creating our future and destiny. It currently has no set structures. Our first Union (Congress) will be held in Zimbabwe once we have had a positive response from people on the ground in Zimbabwe and those in diaspora.The organisation will function as a communal unit with people who share the same political ideas based on Ubuntu, social democracy, social justices and togetherness. We are totally against personalising the political party or idolising any leader. We believe that all politicians are public servants who should serve people not demi-gods (Chefs).We understands that politics is a collective decision made by people about their destiny.Politicians are only facilitators in UGZ, the people have power,they rule. UGZ is a national political party that understands that the most valuable assets of Zimbabwe is its people. We aim to put people first ! We are all Zimbabweans regardless of our colour, creed or race and we shall all address each other as Great Zimbabweans because indeed we are all part of a Great heritage and a Great people. Let us all motivate, inspire, enable and empower each other to do better for ourselves and our Great country. It is time that we put the Great back onto our Zimbabwe and be proud to be members of the UGZ! Zimbabwe is a treasure God made without favour. We must all come together to build our country not into a new glorious era, into a new GREAT Zimbabwe. One where no child goes without food, water, health and education. One where violence and bullying is a thing of the past, where no person has to die of preventable and curable diseases. We need to have all amenities functional and well mantained, a place where health, justice, education, freddom of speech, freedom of expression, freedom of gathering, equal rights, for all is not only reality, but a must. No longer can we mourn about being a third world country but a sovereign state at par in the global village. Bold our ambitions maybe but it starts today. The future is not determined tomorrow but by what we do today. As we begin this long journey to rebuild our beloved nation, let us come together as one demonstrated in our will. We must work together as ONE, Zimbabweans from all backgrounds, colour and creed. No ambition is beyond our reach as long as we have the will and the determination. A line has to be drawn; yester year is yester year, we must learn from the mistakes that now lie in the dustbin of history and must now embrace the new promise of tomorrow and with both hands hold onto our Greatness which we inherit from our Great Zimbabwe, and move forward with vision, focus , determination , unyeilding resolve and with a Great spirit of unity and brotherhood , that not only unites us as Zimbabweans , but also as African Brothers and Sisters ,who together we have liberated ourselves from slavery, colonialism, apartheid and knowing that together as we did in the past, can move away from our painful recent history of self inflicted poverty and iniqualities to our Great future as Great Zimbabweans. The journey ahead is difficult but doing nothing is not an option! Rebuilding Zimbabwe is the only option! Unity is the Power of our Greatness.
