Regarding the updates of entrance to the Arab Republic of Egypt, and within the restrictions under Covid-19 pandemic, The Egyptian competent authorities have communicated that they accept PCR tests if they meet one of the following requirements:

1) A PCR approved in the country from which the traveler comes, and stamped with the laboratory seal (lists of laboratories officially updated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs) and does not have a cross-cut, cross-out or any additions.

2) A PCR containing a QR code instead of the lab's stamp, and accepting these certificates after verifying the authority issuing the certificate.

3) Any other means issued by the state (the issuing state) and officially reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a way that allows the health authorities at the Egyptian ports of entry to verify the validity of these health certificates.

ANNOUNCEMENT:

Starting from 01 Sep 2020 :

- All passengers "including Egyptians" travelling to Egypt MUST be in possession of a negative PCR test taken 72 hours before arrival in Egypt.

- No exceptions of any type or for any reason will be applicable. including members of diplomatic corps accredited to Egypt.

- All children "regardless their nationalities" under 6 years old are exempted from PCR test.

- The submitted PCR certificate will be accepted if it meets these requirements:

1) It includes the hour and the date of withdrawal of the sample, which is the date on which the 48 hours will be counted.

2) Issued by an authorized accredited laboratory and stamped with the laboratory’s stamp and does not contain scraping, cancellation or addition.

3) Indicating the type of sample taken for the swab .

4) Indicating the type of test (RT or PCR).

It is prohibited for all sailors and ship crews to enter the ports of Arab Republic of Egypt without holding a negative PCR test taken 48 hours before arrival in the Egyptian territory, otherwise the test should be done before disembarking in the Egyptian ports, provided that the swabs are withdrawn by the Egyptian quarantine authorities, or under their supervision, and sent immediately to the competent Ministry of Health laboratories. Sailors will only be allowed to disembark after the negative results have been received. Those with positive results are not allowed to enter into the Egyptian territory.

Shipping agencies are to submit a list of the names, nationalities, and numbers of sailors and crews of ships required to be disembarked at Egyptian ports at least 48 hours before arrival.
