invite research proposals aimed at addressing
issues of national interest that relate to postal and
telecommunications development in Zimbabwe.
This call for research proposals seeks to drive the
development of affordable, accessible, ever-present,
reliable ICT infrastructure, laws and systems that are
fundamental to achieving an inclusive digital economy
as outlined by the National Development Strategy 1
(NDS1).
The Director General of the Postal and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (POTRAZ), hereby presents the key trends observed in the Postal and Telecommunication sectors during the first quarter of 2022 as follows:

Here are the Top 10 Projects of the 2022 Hackathon. Due to ties, a total of 61 projects ended up receiving sponsorship instead of the initial 50.

TTMS will assist in combatting telecommunication fraud perpetrated through traffic refiling and the use of grey routes or illegal gateways in the conveyancing of international traffic. Contrary to public perception, the TTMS does not have snooping or eavesdropping capabilities.

The TTMS is a highly advanced regulatory tool, which puts POTRAZ in a better position to combat network fraud in addition to enforcing billing integrity & revenue assurance. It is therefore, highly beneficial to operators, consumers and the government alike. POTRAZ DG

Minister of ICT, Dr. J. Muswere commissioned the Telecommunications Traffic Monitoring System (TTMS) at POTRAZ today. The TTMS is a revenue assurance system that allows POTRAZ to track traffic by operators in realtime hence calculate revenue generated by each operator in realtime.

Today we are commemorating The International Girls in ICT Day at Regina Mundi High in Gweru. Each district in the Midlands Province sent through 100 learners. Girls are being encouraged to take up careers in ICT to participate in the digital economy.

Sheer determination. The touching story of a young girl who lost an arm and a leg after accidentally stepping on a live electricity cable. She wrote her grade 7 exams while she was in hospital and spent 4 years at home. When the opportunity to go back to school again came, she did all that was in her power to attend school. Vellah, you are a champion.
