Zimbabwe’s return to the international rugby family presents an important opportunity to rebuild, grow and position the sport for a stronger future.

In this spirit, I had the pleasure of joining the engagement between the Ministry of Sport, Recreation, Arts and Culture and a high-level delegation from World Rugby, Rugby Africa and the Zimbabwe Rugby Union, led by World Rugby Chairman, Mr. Brett Robinson.

The discussions centred on Zimbabwe’s preparedness and the opportunities that lie ahead as we strengthen our rugby structures; including investments that will help nurture talent from the community level and build a sustainable pathway for the next generation.

We remain committed to working with our partners to ensure that rugby becomes an even stronger vehicle for youth development, inclusion and national pride.

Talent knows no bounds; indeed, it can become a source of healing, purpose and hope for a troubled mind.

Meet “Warrior Ting,” the winner of the 10th Edition of DreamStar Zimbabwe. With a fiery performance that brought the crowd to its feet, Warrior Ting walked away with both the People’s Choice and First Place Awards.

What makes his triumph even more profound is that Warrior Ting is an inmate serving a 15-year sentence - a powerful testament to the ability of talent to transcend circumstances and break barriers.

Commendations to ZPCS for advancing the correctional and rehabilitative purpose of incarceration, and to DreamStar for providing an inclusive platform where talent takes precedence over social circumstance or background.

Talent can restore dignity, inspire hope and open doors where society sees walls.

The 17th Edition of the National Youth and Paralympic Games officially came alive in Marondera in a celebration of youth, talent, resilience and national unity, at Rudhaka Stadium yesterday.

The Guest of Honour, Vice President Hon. Colonel (Rtd) Dr. Kembo Mohadi, ably represented by the Minister of Youth Empowerment, Development and Vocational Training, Hon. Tino Machakaire, joined young people from across all 10 provinces, provincial leadership, local authorities, traditional leaders, residents and visitors in marking this important national occasion.

The vibrant spirit of our young people, complemented by captivating performances from local artists, set the city alight and underscored the immense talent and promise of Zimbabwe’s next generation.

It was a great privilege to officiate as Guest of Honour at last night's DreamStar Zimbabwe 10th Anniversary Grand Finale in Harare.
For the past 10 years, DreamStar has identified, nurtured and created vast opportunities for the local music industry to grow.
They have spotlighted talents and polished acts to notable names that deliver quality in the industry.

I am pleased to have officiated as Guest of Honour at last night's Civic Reception program by the Municipality of Marondera.
The program served as an official welcome to Marondera for our athletes and paralympians playing the National Youth Games, which started on the 12th of August.
It was a fun-filled event that rehashed the importance of sport in development, social cohesion, and wellness.
We remain grateful to the President, H.E Cde Dr. ED Mnangagwa for his visionary leadership that enjoined us to revive the games which are a trademark of youth participation and excellence in sport.
Through this platform, we are grooming olympians and paralympians that will raise the banner of the Zimbabwean flag high 🇿🇼

As Deputy Minister of Sport, Recreation, Arts and Culture, I join all lovers of sport across Zimbabwe in mourning the tragic passing of Highlanders Football Club Chairman Col (Rtd) Kenneth Mhlophe, Vice Chairman Mr. Fiso Siziba, and Treasurer Mr. Nkani Khoza.

I extend my heartfelt condolences to their families, Highlanders FC, the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA), and the entire football fraternity. Their dedicated service to Zimbabwean football leaves behind a legacy that will continue to inspire generations.

I also salute the unwavering commitment to grassroots sport development which we witnessed through their leadership. Highlanders FC travelled all the way to Goromonzi to support the inaugural Hon. Emily Jesaya Sports Tournament, where they identified and encouraged emerging talent, demonstrating their enduring investment in the future of Zimbabwean football.

May the Almighty grant comfort to the bereaved families and eternal rest to the departed.
