The Municipality of Kariba today hosted the Honourable Minister of National Housing and Social Amenities, Hon. Paul Mavhima, for a strategic meeting focused on the continued development of the Kasese area.
Following a briefing on the project, the delegation toured the Mahombekombe houses located beneath the ZESA power lines to assess the current situation and discuss the proposed relocation of the affected households to Kasese once the development project has been completed.
The delegation also visited the ongoing Kasese Sewer Main Trunk project to appreciate the progress being made before concluding the tour with an inspection of the Kasese Water Reservoir, which will serve the area.
During the visit, Hon. Paul Mavhima reaffirmed the Government's commitment to the project and indicated that funding will be availed soon to support the swift completion of the Kasese development.

WELLNESS WALKATHON
The Municipality of Kariba Town Clerk, Mr R. Kamhoti, together with Management and Staff, is currently participating in a wellness walkathon from Total Service Station to Nyamhunga.
The exercise is aimed at promoting physical fitness, healthy lifestyles, team spirit, and the overall well-being of employees.

The Municipality of Kariba successfully held its 2026 Second Quarter Budget Performance Review Meetings in all wards today as part of Council’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and inclusive public participation.

We would like to thank all residents and stakeholders who attended the meetings and shared valuable contributions on service delivery priorities, development projects, and budget performance.

Residents and stakeholders who were unable to attend the meetings physically are still encouraged to participate by submitting their views through the online questionnaire attached to the earlier post shared on this forum. Your input remains important in shaping our Budget and ensuring that Council priorities reflect the needs and expectations of the community.

As the rollout of the Mayor’s Christmas Cheer Fund continues, the Municipality of Kariba today handed over two wheelchairs to Makanaka Nyamhere and Travolta Gasura as part of its commitment to supporting less privileged members of the community.

The wheelchairs will greatly enhance the mobility, independence, and quality of life of the beneficiaries, enabling them to participate more fully in daily activities and improving their overall well-being.
