In the first Full Council meeting following the training and induction of Councillors, elections were conducted for the position of Council Chairperson. Contestants Gwazayi Julius and Nemaunga Pardington emerged were tied at 14 votes each. As such, lots were cast for the two resulting in Nemaunga Paddington of the ZANU (PF) party duly elected Mutasa RDC Chairperson. He will be deputised by Councillor Barara Regina (female) of Ward 6.
