Ruwa Local Board exhibited at the KUZANA Sport and Creative Economy Expo Zimbabwe (SCEEZ) 2026, showcasing its initiatives and highlighting the role of sport and culture in community development, inclusivity and economic empowerment.

The stand was toured by the Vice-President of the Republic of Zimbabwe, Dr Kembo Mohadi, accompanied by the Minister of Sport, Recreation, Arts and Culture, Lieutenant-General (Retired) Anselem Nhamo Sanyatwe, and other senior government officials. The stand also hosted the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Sport, Recreation, Arts and Culture, Mr Nicholas Moyo; the Director-General of the Sports and Recreation Commission, Mr Allen Mavunga; the Director of Sports Development, Mr Sebastian Garikai; the National Director of Special Olympics Zimbabwe, Ms Maculwamahle Nkomo; and the Chief Executive Officer of the Zimbabwe Sports Association for People with Disabilities, Mr Johane Marufu.

The Expo provided a platform for engagement with key stakeholders and highlighted opportunities to advance sport, culture, talent development and economic growth.

Ruwa Local Board has concluded its Strategic Plan Review Workshop held from 29 September to 4 October 2026. The workshop focused on reviewing the 2026–2030 Strategic Plan assessing performance, gathering stakeholder input and preparing the 2027 Annual Plan and Performance Contracts.

The workshop concluded with the adoption of the reviewed plans and priorities for 2027.
