BUDGET COMMITTEE BUDGET REVIEW WORKSHOP

Shurugwi Town Council today, 18 August 2026, is conducting its Budget Committee Budget Review Workshop at Nichrut Lodge.

The workshop is being attended by Councillors serving in the Finance Committee and Council Management, with the Budget Committee comprising various stakeholders, including representatives from Residents Associations.

The workshop provides an important platform for stakeholders to review the Council’s budget, deliberate on key financial priorities, and strengthen participation and accountability in the delivery of services to the people of Shurugwi.

Shurugwi Town Council remains committed to transparent, inclusive and participatory local governance.

Shurugwi Town Council joins the nation in mourning the tragic loss of lives following the boat disaster on Lake Kariba.

We extend our deepest and heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families, relatives and loved ones of those who lost their lives. We also stand in solidarity with those who remain missing, the survivors, and all those affected by this devastating tragedy.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of Kariba and the entire nation during this difficult time. We pray for strength and comfort for the grieving families, and for the safe recovery of those still missing.
