Presidents of Uzbekistan and China discuss enhancing comprehensive cooperation

The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held talks with the President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit in Bishkek.

The President of Uzbekistan expressed gratitude to the Chinese leader for his warm congratulations on the 35th anniversary of Uzbekistan’s independence and for his personal contribution to strengthening multifaceted relations between Uzbekistan and China.

Next year, the two countries will mark the 35th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations. It was proposed to prepare a program of events to celebrate this significant date widely.

In recent years, bilateral relations have significantly advanced. Contacts across all levels are steadily intensifying, with ongoing development in political dialogue, trade, economic, investment, and technological cooperation. Meanwhile, cultural and humanitarian exchanges continue to grow.

The sides supported maintaining the systematic Strategic Dialogue between foreign ministries and strengthening interparliamentary relations. Uzbekistan reaffirmed its firm support for the “One China” policy and its ongoing efforts to counter the “three forces of evil”.

Particular attention was paid to trade, economic, and investment cooperation. Last year, bilateral trade approached $18 billion. Confidence was expressed that this figure would continue to grow.

A new target of $30 billion was proposed for the coming years. Efforts will focus on boosting mutual supplies of industrial and agricultural products and encouraging Uzbek enterprises to participate actively in trade exhibitions in China.

The portfolio of ongoing joint investment projects totals approximately $60 billion, while more than 6,000 joint ventures operate in Uzbekistan.

Promising areas of industrial cooperation include energy, the chemical industry, metallurgy, the production of construction materials and food products, transportation and infrastructure, agriculture, and high technologies. New growth points will also be expanded in the digital economy, mining, and the development and processing of mineral resources.

The collaboration with BYD on electric vehicle manufacturing was recognized as a successful example of technological partnership. Support was given for plans to expand production capacity and enhance localization efforts.

Chinese companies were invited to participate more actively in establishing production facilities in joint industrial zones across Uzbekistan.

The focus was on developing cooperation with top Chinese financial institutions and strengthening their involvement in Uzbekistan.

Cooperation in the energy sector received high praise. Uzbekistan aims to expand its partnership in both traditional and alternative energy sources and seeks to involve Chinese companies in peaceful nuclear energy initiatives.

Interregional exchanges continue to grow rapidly, with all regions of Uzbekistan engaging actively with Chinese provinces and developing a significant number of joint projects. The Third Forum of Regions took place in Xi’an in May.

Significant focus was given to improving transport links. The building of the key China – Kyrgyzstan – Uzbekistan railway is advancing well. This route is expected to become a vital component of Eurasia’s transport network and boost connectivity under the Belt and Road Initiative.

The expansion of tourism and humanitarian exchanges also featured prominently on the talks’ agenda. A visa-free regime is in effect, and the sides discussed plans to expand air services and increase flight frequency between cities in both countries.

Consistent efforts are underway to establish Cultural Centers in Uzbekistan and China. Uzbek Culture Days in China are planned for the end of the year. It was proposed to adopt a Program of Cultural Events for 2027-2029.

Cooperation continues in science, education, and personnel training. The Luban Workshops and Confucius Institutes will continue their activities, along with the development of joint educational projects in the regions.

Interest was expressed in expanding Chinese language studies, interuniversity educational programs, and increasing quotas for Uzbek youth to study in China.

Space exploration was identified as a promising area for cooperation.

Particular attention was paid to deepening regional partnership within the China – Central Asia format and to preparations for its third summit, to be held in China next year.

The President of Uzbekistan invited the President of China to visit Uzbekistan. The meeting was held in a traditionally trusting, open, and friendly atmosphere.

Der Präsident Usbekistans trifft in Bischkek ein

Der Präsident der Republik Usbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, ist in Bischkek eingetroffen, um an der ordentlichen Sitzung des Rates der Staatschefs der Schanghaier Organisation für Zusammenarbeit (SOZ) sowie am SCO-Plus-Treffen teilzunehmen.
Am internationalen Flughafen Manas wurde der usbekische Staatschef von Adylbek Kasymaliev, dem Vorsitzenden des Ministerkabinetts und Leiter der Präsidialverwaltung der Kirgisischen Republik, sowie weiteren Amtsträgern empfangen.

Heute wird der usbekische Staatschef eine Reihe bilateraler Treffen abhalten und an der Eröffnungsfeier der Sechsten Welt-Nomadenspiele teilnehmen.

In Khiwa entsteht eine neue internationale Tourismusstadt

Präsident Shavkat Mirziyoyev nahm eine Präsentation über ein Projekt zur Entwicklung einer internationalen Tourismusstadt in Khiwa zur Kenntnis.
In den letzten Jahren hat sich die Region Khorezm auf den Ausbau der touristischen Infrastruktur, die Verbesserung der Servicequalität und die Verlängerung der Aufenthaltsdauer der Besucher konzentriert. In den vergangenen neun Jahren wurden 280 Hotels und Pensionen gebaut, die Beherbergungskapazität vervierfacht und 11 neue touristische Einrichtungen in Betrieb genommen. In den letzten fünf Jahren hat sich die Zahl der ausländischen Touristen verzehnfacht.

Die neue Tourismusstadt wird historisches Erbe mit zeitgemäßer Stadtplanung verbinden. Ihre Architektur knüpft an die langjährigen städtebaulichen Traditionen von Khorezm an, wie beispielsweise den historischen Grundriss und das Straßennetz von Vazir, einer antiken Stadt, die 1511 als erste Hauptstadt des Khanats Khiwa diente.

Der 12,3 Hektar große Komplex wird Hotels, ein Museum mit historischen und zeitgenössischen Exponaten, Restaurants mit nationaler und internationaler Küche, Einzelhandelsgeschäfte sowie Dienstleistungsbetriebe umfassen.

Ein bedeutender Teil der Fläche wird Grünflächen und Fußgängerwegen gewidmet sein. Der Plan sieht Kaskadenbrunnen und interne Kanäle vor. Auf den Parkplätzen werden mit Solarmodulen ausgestattete Überdachungen installiert.

Es wurde darauf hingewiesen, dass der konsequente Ausbau der Verkehrs-, Logistik- und Tourismusinfrastruktur in Khorezm zu einem Anstieg der Touristenströme beiträgt. In diesem Zusammenhang sind die Schaffung moderner Tourismuskomplexe, die Erweiterung des Dienstleistungsangebots und die Verlängerung der Aufenthaltsdauer der Besucher in der Region von großer Bedeutung.

Die neue Stadt soll den touristischen Druck auf Ichan Kala mindern und neue Routen sowie Annehmlichkeiten für Besucher erschließen. Das Projekt sieht zudem die Schaffung von Tausenden von Arbeitsplätzen sowie die Einrichtung grüner, verkehrsfreier Erholungszonen vor.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed a presentation outlining measures to develop livestock and poultry farming, increase meat and dairy production, and introduce modern technologies into the sector.
The country’s growing population and rising tourist traffic are also driving demand for food products. Today, annual meat demand stands at 2.15 million tons, while production is approximately 1.6 million tons.

In this regard, a package of measures has been developed to increase livestock production from 2026 to 2028. It was noted that an additional 190,000 tons of meat could be produced by restoring enterprises that have suspended operations, supporting districts specializing in livestock farming, constructing lightweight cattle sheds on household farms, and implementing new projects.

In particular, 103 livestock enterprises that have suspended operations are planned for rehabilitation. It was proposed to restructure their debts or allow repayment in installments over ten years, allocate land for fodder crops, and provide the enterprises with pedigree livestock. As a result, 33,000 head of cattle will be maintained, enabling the annual production of 12,000 tons of meat and 40,000 tons of milk.

In 13 districts specializing in livestock farming, it is planned to make efficient use of 75,000 hectares of fodder land, finance small livestock projects, and establish milk collection points and retail outlets that sell animal feed.

In addition, 11,000 lightweight cattle sheds are planned to be built on 20-sotok household plots, providing housing for 421,000 head of cattle.

As part of 802 new projects with a total value of 3 trillion UZS, conditions will be created to keep more than 68,000 head of cattle and 186,000 sheep and goats. Implementing these projects will make it possible to produce an additional 20,000 tons of meat and 120,000 tons of milk annually.

The results of an AI-assisted analysis of measures to rehabilitate livestock complexes, using the Republic of Karakalpakstan as an example, were also reviewed. The debt of the 20 complexes studied totaled 109.6 billion UZS, with half classified as high-risk. Most of the facilities lack sufficient fodder land and the necessary infrastructure.

Based on this, proposals were put forward to reduce the debt burden, establish a reliable fodder base, gradually relaunch the complexes, first on a pilot basis and then in stages, and supply them with pedigree livestock.

The plan involves importing 150,000 sheep from Mongolia, 100,000 pedigree cattle from China and European nations, and 2,000 livestock from Belarus. This will increase meat production capacity by 44,000 tons per year.

Overall, $463 million is to be allocated to the development of the livestock sector.

Particular attention was given to supporting household farms and mahallas specializing in livestock farming. To date, 2,407 mahallas across 191 districts have been designated as specialized mahallas, with a total population of 3.9 million.

It was proposed to provide such households with affordable pedigree livestock, perform artificial insemination of cows, improve access to animal feed and veterinary services, identify pedigree calves, and offer subsidies. These measures are expected to increase livestock numbers and productivity on farms and create additional sources of income for citizens.

In the field of pedigree livestock breeding, it is planned to establish farms in 13 districts, each designed to accommodate 200 head of cattle, to carry out the artificial insemination of 500,000 cows annually using selected breeding material, and to widely introduce embryo transfer technologies.

During the presentation, a proposal to establish the Livestock Breeders Association of Uzbekistan was also reviewed. The new organization will protect livestock breeders’ interests, foster cooperation, promote breeding activities, scientific research, and innovation, and address issues related to financial support and access to foreign markets.

The Smart Farmer unified digital assistant platform for farmers and the public was also presented. Through the mobile application, users will be able to identify livestock, call a veterinary specialist, access information on artificial insemination, feeding management, and pasture management, apply for subsidies, and receive AI-powered advice.

In the poultry sector, projects totaling $432 million are planned. These projects are expected to produce an additional 100,000 tons of poultry meat by 2028, increase compound feed production capacity to 3.3 million tons, and expand the coverage of modern slaughter systems from 20 to 50 percent.

The Head of State instructed the responsible officials to conduct an in-depth analysis of the economic efficiency of the projects, ensure the targeted and effective allocation of funds, introduce digital accounting and monitoring systems, and take measures to ensure a stable supply of high-quality, affordable products to the domestic market.

Im Rahmen ihres Besuchs in Cholpon-Ata nahm der Präsident der Republik Usbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, gemeinsam mit den Staatschefs aus Zentralasien und Aserbaidschan an der feierlichen Eröffnung des ersten Golfclubs nach internationalem Standard in Kirgisistan teil.
Die Staatschefs besichtigten die moderne Sport- und Tourismusinfrastruktur des Komplexes. Es wurde betont, dass die neue Anlage dazu beitragen werde, den Golfsport zu fördern und den Sporttourismus weiterzuentwickeln.

Die Staatschefs gratulierten dem Präsidenten der Kirgisischen Republik, Sadyr Japarov, und dem brüderlichen kirgisischen Volk zur Eröffnung der neuen Anlage und wünschten ihnen viel Erfolg bei der Umsetzung groß angelegter Projekte zur Erschließung des touristischen Potenzials des Landes.

PRESIDENT OF UZBEKISTAN HAS BEEN AWARDED THE ORDER OF MANAS, 1ST DEGREE

A ceremony was held to present the Order of Manas, 1st Degree, to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The highest state award of the Kyrgyz Republic was presented to the President of Uzbekistan by President Sadyr Japarov.

Expressing his deep gratitude to the President and the entire fraternal people of Kyrgyzstan, the Leader of Uzbekistan emphasized that he views this high award as recognition of the joint efforts to strengthen the centuries-old bonds of true friendship and good-neighborliness between the two peoples, as well as of the shared aspiration to elevate relations between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan to a new historic level, that of an alliance.

Established in 1996, the Order of Manas is one of the highest state honors of the Kyrgyz Republic. It is awarded to citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic and foreign nationals for outstanding contributions to strengthening statehood, advancing international cooperation, and promoting peace, friendship, and mutual understanding among peoples.
