Assessment Worker

Are you passionate about supporting individuals and families to access the services they need? We are seeking a compassionate, organised and motivated Assessment Worker to join our team.

About the Role
As an Assessment Worker, you will be responsible for:
✔️ Conducting initial client assessments and intake processes
✔️ Identifying client needs and developing appropriate referral pathways
✔️ Providing information, support and advocacy
✔️ Maintaining accurate client records and case notes
✔️ Working collaboratively with internal programs and external service providers
✔️ Supporting people in a professional, respectful and culturally safe manner

What We're Looking For
🗣 Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
🗣 Strong organisational and administrative abilities
🗣 Experience working within community services, health, alcohol and other drugs, mental health or related sectors
🗣 Ability to engage with clients from diverse backgrounds
🗣 Current Driver's Licence
🗣 Relevant qualifications (or working towards) in Community Services, Social Work or a related field desirable

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Minister Steve Edgington MLA for taking the time to visit and meet with our CEO Eloise yesterday.
We greatly appreciated the opportunity to share our future visions and discuss the critical needs of our clients and residents. Your willingness to listen, engage in meaningful conversation, and gain a deeper understanding of the challenges to our organisation is truly valued.

It was terrific catching up with Chief Executive Officer Eloise Cole in Alice Springs this afternoon.

DASA Alice Springs offers a range of services to provide rehabilitation from use or dependency on alcohol and other drugs, and education to the Alice Springs and the Central Australia community.

It was interesting to hear about DASA’s proposal to redevelop its Schwarz Crescent site to consolidate services at a single location, improving service integration, efficiency and long-term sustainability.

Thank you to Eloise and the entire DASA team working on the frontline helping to reduce alcohol and drug addiction.

Aranda House update: DASA's Aranda House Therapeutic Community (previously located in Kempe Street, Alice Springs) is up and running at DASA's Schwarz Crescent premises following the flood event that caused us to leave the Kempe street site in February 2026. We are accepting referrals for both Aranda House and the Take a Break Program. If there are any concerns regarding the former Kempe Street premises, please reach out to Alice Springs Police or the Northern Territory Health Department.
