🔨 Tradies for the Day! 👷‍♀️👷‍♂️

Today, the government schools got into the spirit and dressed up as tradies! It was a fun way for everyone to have a laugh, get involved, and enjoy some time together. 😄

In the afternoon, the schools came together to socialise and catch up with each other. A big thank you to Acacia for choosing the tradie theme this time around — it was definitely a lot of fun!

Some students even started calling us “Bob the Builder!” 😂🔨

🏆And the best part… BRADSHAW WON! 🥳💙🔨
A huge congratulations to everyone at Bradshaw for getting into the spirit and showing off our tradie style!

Thanks everyone for making it such a fun day! 💙

Today 5T students travelled to Arltunga Historical Reserve to finish off our Gold Rush unit with an unforgettable hands on learning experience.

The day began with students receiving their very own miner’s licence before setting off to explore one of Central Australia’s most significant historical sites. Throughout the day, they completed activities in their Gold Rush booklets while discovering what life was like during the gold rush era.

Our students had the incredible opportunity to tour the Government Works, learn about the history of Arltunga, explore the old battery, and discover how gold was processed. The rangers brought the learning to life by demonstrating how to mine and pan for gold, giving every student the chance to have a go themselves. They also shared a fascinating collection of rocks and minerals, allowing students to investigate the different materials that can be found in the region.

It was wonderful to see the excitement on students’ faces as they connected everything they had been learning in the classroom with real life experiences. They asked thoughtful questions, worked collaboratively and embraced every opportunity to learn.

A huge thank you to the amazing Arltunga rangers for going above and beyond to make our visit so engaging, educational and memorable. Their passion, knowledge and generosity created an experience our students will be talking about for a long time. It was the perfect way to conclude our Gold Rush learning.
