We offer discounts for larger orders 10 cubic meters is $1650 including GST and delivery. Prices increase from 36km to 70km. Where is Australian National University and Fenner School of Environment and Society Professor Peter Kanowski now? In 2009 Professor Kanowski stood in The Perricoota State Forest, in a dry creek bed known as the Burrumbury Creek at the backend of the millennium drought and stated that these forests will never see a natural flood again. The professor's view of the world was skewed, he had jumped at the shadows of the climate alarmists stating it will never rain again. Less than a year after delivering a hammer blow to the Riverina by shutting down 107,000ha of Red Gum State Forest based on his personal beliefs in 2010 a huge flood inundated the entire 36,000 hectares of Red Gum State Forest. Smaller floods arrived in 2011 and 2012. 2016 and 2022 delivered huge floods again with 2022 perhaps the largest ever recorded. 2022 was so big that the water coming from the Goulburn River and Lake Eildon sent the flow of the Murray River backwards towards Mathoura. Floods again in 2023, 2024 and again now in 2026 with a large flood already in the forest at the end of Winter let alone Spring Since losing a bet on this wild statement Red Gum has seen an extremely wet 17 years with 3 of the 5 or 6 largest floods recorded since the mid 1800's. So many expert opinions and money spent on the closure of native forestry in Australia and a sustainable, renewable industry who's products store carbon and then the regeneration of the trees harvested sequesters more carbon is unfairly traded off in the name of conservation and Political gain. With 88% of NSW Native Forests managed for conservation you have to ask the experts as to why are we still seeing animals added to the endangered species list? Its not the 12% remaining as sustainable State Forests that's the problem its the 88% managed for conservation that is failing to deliver on the promised conservation, environmental, economic and social outcomes used as the rationale to convert them to National Parks. The Barber Creek in the Koondrook State Forest is a majestic sight in flood. From seeing it cross the Big Bonum Road on Wednesday afternoon to now being fairly full this afternoon and nearly 2 metres in height is a demonstration of how quickly things change in the floodplain in which our magnificent Red Gums grow. The last 16-17 years in Red Gum has delivered 3 of the 5-6 largest floods on record since the mid 1800’s. This year’s flood with no further rain in the catchment will deliver another decent flood across Perricoota Koondrook and Campbell’s Island State Forests.
