📚 OUR LIBRARIES ARE GROWING! 🎉

There’s some great news coming out of the recent Riverina Regional Library membership campaign, with our Berrigan Shire libraries welcoming plenty of new faces!

Across Berrigan, Finley, Tocumwal and Barooga libraries, 58 new members joined during the campaign!

And a special shout-out goes to Berrigan Library, which was sitting third across the entire Riverina Regional Library network for membership growth, with 28 new members representing an impressive 8.48% increase! 🥉📚

Our other branches were growing too:
📖 Finley – 15 new members
📖 Tocumwal – 13 new members
📖 Barooga – 2 new members

The membership drive has been a huge success right across the Riverina Regional Library network, with 1,043 new members joining in just six weeks – a 211% increase compared with the same period last year.

A big thank you to our wonderful library staff for their efforts throughout the campaign, and to everyone who joined, referred a friend or helped spread the word. 💛

We’ll be keeping an eye out for the final competition results and prize announcements! 👀

Tocumwal Library will open later than usual today due to unforeseen circumstances.
We expect it will open from 10:15am & will update if this is not the case.

Census night was Tuesday 11 August and it is important that everyone fills in their Census fully and accurately.

There will be a community pop-up session at the Tocumwal Library tomorrow Thursday 20 August from 9:30am - 12:30pm.

Local Government Week ✨

Ever wondered what Berrigan Shire does beyond roads, rates and rubbish?

This week we're celebrating Local Government Week by shining a spotlight on the people, places and services that help make Berrigan Shire a great place to live, work and visit.

From maintaining parks, playgrounds, roads and pools, to operating libraries, supporting local events, caring for cemeteries, planning and delivering essential infrastructure, Council's work touches almost every part of daily life.

Throughout the week, we'll take you behind the scenes, introduce you to some of the incredible staff that are from your community who keep our Shire running.

Follow along as we celebrate Local Government Week 2026 and discover everything that goes into serving the Berrigan Shire community.

Berrigan Library Open Day! 📚

Come and celebrate the fresh new look of Berrigan Library following its recent renovations!

Enjoy a complimentary lunch and cake, explore the refreshed library, and help us celebrate 200 Years of Libraries in NSW.
