Five business days, the website said. But you're in Darwin, so you already know better. 📦

You find the perfect keyboard online. Add to cart. Checkout.

"Estimated delivery: 5 to 7 business days."

Except that estimate was written for someone in Sydney.

Five days turns into two weeks. Sometimes three. Freight adds up. And if it cops the humidity in transit or turns up damaged, you're posting it back at your own cost and starting over.

Now add the deadline. If it lands after June 30, the deduction you were counting on rolls into next year.

And let's be honest, refreshing the courier's tracking page becomes a second job in the last week of June.

There's a simpler way to sort this. One that doesn't involve gambling on a last-minute miracle from the depot. 🙃

Be honest. How much of your home office was actually chosen on purpose? 🤔

Most of us in Darwin built our setup one piece at a time.

A keyboard from the old job. A charger your partner gave up on. A monitor that works fine, as long as you don't bump the cable.

It all functions. None of it was planned.

And if you've been promising yourself an upgrade "next month" since last wet season, you're in good company.

The thing is, a setup that fights you all day quietly drains your focus. You stop noticing the small annoyances, but they add up.
