A special treat for our years 1 & 2 today with a visit from celebrated author, Cheryl Leavy, courtesy of the CHRC. Cheryl is from the Kooma and Nguri nations and delighted the kids with a narration of her first picture book, Yanga - Mother, beautifully illustrated by Christopher Bassi, renowned Meriam and Yupungathi artist. Cheryl shared her story about a grey kangaroo and her joey in her native language and translated in English. It was our absolute pleasure to have Cheryl visit our school; our gratitude to you for your donation of a copy of Yanga - Mother, which we will proudly display in the school library.

🇯🇵Very pleasing to see our year 6 student, Ashlyn, recognised for her contributions to the Central Highlands Regional Council's Sister City Exchange Program. It is Ashlyn's dream to one day visit Japan as an exchange student and she has been busily helping with fundraising to support her sister, Loralei, who is participating in this year's program. Awesome stuff, Ashlyn! 👏👏👏

🚨🚨🚨The roar of welcome was deafening this morning as we welcomed our local emergency services personnel to the school, acknowledging our inaugural 📍𝕋𝕙𝕒𝕟𝕜 𝕒 𝔽𝕚𝕣𝕤𝕥 ℝ𝕖𝕤𝕡𝕠𝕟𝕕𝕖𝕣 𝔻𝕒𝕪! 👨‍🚒👩‍✈️🚑

Our VIP guests shared some aspects of their essential roles in our community, and our students showered them with appreciation, having spent hours making cards and artwork to present to them. Our local heroes were then happy to oblige the camera, 📸posing with their very cute little mini-me's .

To our firies, ambos and QPS - BNSS values you 🫵and admires all that you do to keep our community safe. 🫶

𝔼𝕍𝔼ℝ𝕐 𝕎𝔼𝔻ℕ𝔼𝕊𝔻𝔸𝕐 BNSS hosts an ECDP Playgroup from 9-11am at the Early Learning Centre. Our 𝔼ℂ𝔻ℙ ℙ𝕝𝕒𝕪𝕘𝕣𝕠𝕦𝕡 is a welcoming play- based program for young children (birth to 5 years) who have a developmental delay or are suspected of having additional support needs. It provides early intervention and support for both children and families.
