💃✨ Dragged Through the Desert – A Priscilla Celebration is coming to the Broome Civic Centre!

Fresh from winning the People's Choice Award at Fringe World Perth 2026, this award-winning show features electrifying drag, dazzling costumes, powerhouse vocals and all the disco hits you know and love.

Hosted by live-singing drag sensation Dean Misdale, audiences can expect favourites including It's Raining Men, I Will Survive and Hot Stuff in this heartfelt tribute to Priscilla Queen of the Desert.

Council progresses plans for Regional Resource Recovery Park

The Shire of Broome is advancing its long-term plans for the Regional Resource Recovery Park (RRRP), while strengthening its advocacy for State and Federal Government support to deliver the critical infrastructure project.

At its September Special Meeting of Council, Council endorsed further work to review and update the project’s design, scope, costs and approvals, ensuring the Shire has current and robust information to guide future funding and delivery decisions.

The RRRP is a significant long-term infrastructure project for Broome, designed to provide future landfill capacity, community recycling and liquid waste services as the existing Buckleys Road Waste Management Facility approaches the end of its operational life.

Thank you to everyone who attended our Beachside Family Fun event this morning! ☀️🌴

What an epic turnout! We had a fantastic time creating clay masterpieces, testing our skills on the inflatable dart board, painting rocks and getting creative with our colouring activities.

We'd love to see you all tomorrow at our BRAC Track & Trails Official Opening event, kicking off at 8am at the Broome Youth Precinct (between BRAC and the Boulevard Shopping Centre).

🏠 Housing remains one of the biggest issues facing our community, and we’re not standing still.

The latest independent MARKYT Community Scorecard identified housing as a top community priority, with residents calling for more affordable housing, increased land supply and additional key worker accommodation.

That’s why the Shire continues to advocate for:

✅ More residential land supply
✅ Affordable and diverse housing options
✅ Additional key worker accommodation
✅ Increased social housing investment

We're progressing projects such as McMahon Estate, and Sanctuary Village, seeking funding for additional key worker accommodation, and working closely with State agencies to help tackle one of the most significant challenges facing Broome.



We're listening. We're advocating. We're working for Broome. 💙
