🏆2026 NSWRU U16 Rugby 7s State Champions 🏆

Day 3 on the Central Coast saw our U16 Boys compete in the NSWRU Rugby 7s State Championships. After progressing through the Southern NSW stage undefeated, they earned the opportunity to take on the very best school teams from across the state.

The tournament featured some of NSW's strongest rugby programs, including Matraville Sports High School, Hunter Sports High School, Central Coast Sports College and Patrician Brothers Blacktown, alongside other talented independent and public schools.

Despite a slow start, with the majority of our squad new to Rugby 7s, the boys quickly found their rhythm and became the standout team of the competition. Their confidence and teamwork grew with every match as they once again finished the tournament undefeated, earning the title of 2026 NSWRU U16 Rugby 7s STATE CHAMPIONS.

Every player played an important role in the team's success:

~ Dom, Flynn and Jack directed play and controlled the game.
~ Blake and Ross dominated the rucks through the middle.
~ Jaden, Levi and Taite finished off attacking opportunities out wide.
~ Archie, Jermaine and Nelson provided speed and X-factor across the field.
~ Chris brought size, physicality and intimidation up front.
~ And of course, Emery, our Chief Hydration Officer, kept everyone fuelled and hydrated throughout the day.

Every player gave their absolute best and worked selflessly for one another. Seeing the emotion shared by the players, coaches and parents after the final whistle was a special reminder of what school sport is all about.

This is an outstanding achievement and another milestone for a remarkable group of young men who continue to excel across Rugby League, Rugby Union, Touch Football and Oztag. The entire school community is incredibly proud of what they have accomplished.

We are incredibly proud of Year 11 student Marlon, recipient of the Order of Australia Association NSW Branch 2026 Youth Community Service Award, presented at Government House.

Marlon is an inspiring young leader who demonstrates outstanding service, kindness and commitment to his school and wider community through his leadership, volunteering and mentoring.

Congratulations, Marlon, on this well-deserved recognition! We are so proud of you!

2026 Oztag Champion of Champions

This week, our Year 9/10 Oztag teams travelled to Tuggerah on the Central Coast for two days to compete in the prestigious Champion of Champions tournament after qualifying through the Sutherland Regional competition. The event brings together the best school teams from across NSW to compete against one another each year.
Our Girls' team competed exceptionally well across their six pool matches, taking on some very strong opposition from the Public, Catholic and Independent school systems. Although they were unable to progress to the knockout stages, they finished the tournament with a determined performance against the eventual champions.
Our Boys' team continued their outstanding form this year, producing a series of tough performances to earn a place in the quarter-finals. They were ultimately defeated by the eventual champions, Endeavour Sports High School, but finished an impressive 7th in NSW—a fantastic achievement considering the quality of competition throughout the tournament.
Congratulations to all players on representing the school with pride, determination and excellent sportsmanship. A special thank you also goes to our parents for their support with travel and accommodation throughout the trip - Mr. May

We could not be prouder of the recognition our school has received through our recent External Validation.

Every four years, NSW public schools participate in External Validation — a rigorous process where schools present evidence of their teaching, leadership and improvement practices against the 14 elements of the School Excellence Framework. An independent panel of experienced educators then reviews this evidence and validates the school’s assessment of its strengths, areas for growth and the impact of its work.

The last time BHS underwent External Validation, in 2021, our school was recognised as Excelling in 5 of the 14 elements.

We are incredibly proud to share that yesterday, BHS was externally validated as EXCELLING in 13 of the 14 elements!!! 🎉💙

To see this growth over the past five years is an extraordinary achievement and a testament to our entire school community.

For us, the numbers tell only part of the story. What makes us most proud is the incredible work behind them. Every day, our teachers, leaders and support staff give so much to our students and to each other. Their professionalism, collaboration and belief in what is possible have driven this improvement, alongside our exceptional students who inspire us to continually strive for excellence.

Thank you to every member of our staff for all that you contribute. This recognition reflects your commitment, your care and the difference you make every day. 💙
