Meet Sharon, one of our Learn to Swim Instructors! 🏊‍♀️✨

Sharon brings an impressive 17 years of experience teaching Learn to Swim. Her favourite age group to work with is pre-squad. Sharon loves helping students master efficient stroke techniques! For Sharon, nothing beats watching students progress while having an absolute blast in the water.

Fun Fact: Sharon actually swapped corporate finance for the pool deck, finding her corporate job was lacking personal reward. Making the leap to Swim Instructor and coaching brought her true job satisfaction, fun and fulfillment and we are so lucky to have her!

Winter sports season may be coming to an end, but that doesn't mean you can't keep your fitness up in the off season! 💪

Corowa Aquatic Centre offers year round exercise. Exercising in water decreases weight through the body's joints, reduces pain and swelling, it's a good alternative to stay fit and to boost recovery. 💙🏊

Or if your sport season is just ramping up, start your preseason with us!

Our centre staff would also like to wish good luck to all our local sporting groups participating in finals in the coming weeks. 🏆

Did you know that today marks the first day of Science Week that's held annually?🤔🔬

This year's Science Week will take place from 15 August - 23 August and we thought, what better time than to share some fun facts!

💧 The volume of water in our indoor pool is 2,220,000L and it takes the filters and pumps approximately 4 hours to undertake a complete turnover.

⌛ Sand filters clean and filter any particles from the pool water, helping to keep the water safe for swimmers. The 50m pool is equipped with 3 x sand filters weighing 15,200kg!

🧪 Our indoor pool is treated with bromine and our outdoor pool and splash park are treated with chlorine. Both are great at keeping our pools sparkling clean and controlled. Bromine is used because it is better for warmer water!

🏊 The Corowa Aquatic Centre pools water chemistry and hygiene are tested daily by our trusty staff to help maintain pH levels, sanitisers and to monitor/adjust water quality parameters.
