🕰️ A GLIMPSE INTO OUR PAST: SCHOOL LIFE IN THE 1940s 🕰️

As part of our 150th anniversary celebrations, we will be sharing some wonderful old photos from time to time. The first images show what life was like at Cudal Public School in 1940, more than 80 years ago!

Do you recognise anyone in these photos, or have stories from this era? Let us know in the comments or tag someone who might remember. We’d love to hear your memories and help us keep our history alive!

Capacity Conquerors

K/1 have been learning all about capacity in Mathematics. Today, students used concrete materials to explore capacity through hands-on experiences and made meaningful connections to the real world.

Students selected appropriate informal units to measure the capacity of different containers and used tally marks to record their findings. They explored their ideas using both sand and water, making predictions, measuring, comparing and discussing their results.

It was wonderful to see our students learning through play, investigation and practical hands on activities.

🐞 Beetle Biscuit Magic: K/1 Gets Creative with AA Milne! 🍪

Our K/1 students loved bringing AA Milne’s poem "Forgiven" to life by decorating their very own beetle biscuits on Thursday! From icing to lollies, they had a blast creating—and then writing step-by-step about “How to Make Beetle Biscuits.” Sweet learning and tasty treats all in one!

MAKING MATHS MAGICAL IN Yr 2/3

Students in 2/3 have been building their multiplication and division skills through hands-on games and plenty of mathematical thinking!

Students challenged each other to an array battle, using arrays to represent multiplication facts, while developing their understanding of equal groups and number relationships.

We also had dice challenges, where students used various dice to create multiplication and division number sentences involving 10,100 and 1000. This was a great way to practise recognising patterns and applying our place value knowledge.

It was fantastic to see students working collaboratively, explaining their thinking and having fun while strengthening their maths skills!
