FUTURE FARMERS, FUTURE LEADERS

Our Year 4/5/6 students have been hard at work during their Persuasive Writing unit, tackling the question: "Should Agriculture be a compulsory subject in Years 5 and 6?"
The topic certainly sparked some lively debate! In fact, we had only one brave student argue against the idea, while the rest passionately advocated for agriculture to become a compulsory subject in primary schools.
Students worked hard to develop strong arguments, support their opinions with evidence and craft convincing persuasive texts. They were so passionate about the topic that they decided to take their writing beyond the classroom, addressing and sending their persuasive letters to Prue Car, Deputy Premier of New South Wales and Minister for Education and Early Learning.
We are incredibly proud of the enthusiasm, critical thinking and persuasive skills our students demonstrated throughout this unit.
Stay tuned to see if Agriculture becomes a compulsory subject for Year 5 and 6 students!

SAFETY FIRST: STAFF UPDATE CPR AND FIRST AID TRAINING

After school on Wednesday 10th June, our staff completed their annual CPR and Anaphylaxis training with Royal Life Saving. Some also updated their full first aid certification, which is required every three years. These training sessions, required by the Department of Education, ensure our team is ready to respond in emergencies and keep our school safe. Thanks to all staff for their commitment to student safety and staying up-to-date with the latest first aid practices!

K1 have been exploring Country as part of their Geography studies with Mrs Adams. Today they created clay representations of a special place or animal on Wiradjuri country.

FUTURE TEACHERS IN THE MAKING!

Our Year 4/5/6 students stepped into the role of teacher as they worked with the Year 2/3 class to teach vertical addition and subtraction.

The older students did a fantastic job explaining strategies, demonstrating examples and supporting their younger peers. It was wonderful to see the Year 2/3 students embrace the challenge, confidently solving problems and even tackling more complex calculations with success!

We were incredibly proud of the patience, encouragement and determination shown by all students throughout the session. The collaboration, leadership and positive learning conversations on display were a credit to everyone involved.

Who knows? We may have some future teachers in the making!

"ALL IN - HANDS TOGETHER, HEARTS OPEN" for RECONCILIATION DAY AT CUDAL PUBLIC SCHOOL

Today we celebrated Reconciliation Day at Cudal Public School! Students enjoyed a range of cultural activities including weaving and bracelet making, creating air-dry ornaments, and boomerang painting. We were thrilled to welcome students from Canowindra High School & Public School and Molong Central School, who joined in and ran TIG games for the boys and dance for the girls. The day ended with yarning circles, where students reflected and shared stories together in their classrooms.
A fantastic day celebrating culture, connection, and reconciliation! 🖤💛❤️
A huge thank you to Mrs Greatbach and the girls from Molong CS, as well as Mrs McKay and the boys from Canowindra HS, for joining us on Reconciliation Day. They not only supported the kids in morning activity rotations but also shared their Indigenous dance and TIG games, making Reconciliation Day truly special.

BUILDING SAFE AND RESPECTFUL COMMUNITIES: NSW POLICE YOUTH COMMAND VISIT

Today, we were privileged to welcome Sergeant Jane Heffernan and Senior Constable Helen Baker from the NSW Police Force Youth Command based in Orange. They joined us to deliver an important talk focused on safety in the community, consent, and respectful relationships.
A significant part of their visit addressed the issue of bullying. They spoke clearly about what behaviours constitute bullying and the importance of using appropriate language and respectful contact with others. Students were given many practical examples to help distinguish between what is acceptable and what is not, both at school and in the wider community.
The presentation also included discussion about the Department’s Student Code of Conduct, reinforcing our shared commitment to creating a safe, respectful, and positive environment for all students.
We thank Sergeant Heffernan and Senior Constable Baker for their valuable time and for providing our students with clear guidance on how to contribute to a safe and supportive community.

STEP BY STEP: LETS WALK TO SCHOOL TOGETHER!

Today, students at Cudal Public School proudly took part in National Walk Safely to School Day.
After learning about road and bike safety yesterday, students had the opportunity to put their skills into practice by walking, riding and travelling safely to school today. It was fantastic to see so many students making healthy, active and safe choices on their journey to school!

BIKE AND SCOOTER SAFETY DAY: LEARNING ON TWO WHEELS!

Today, our students enjoyed an exciting Bike and Scooter Safety Day! Despite a foggy start, the sun came out for a day full of activities, including bike and scooter safety checks, a fun egg helmet experiment, a bike safety Kahoot quiz, and an obstacle course for the younger students.

We were thrilled to welcome Senior Constable Jacob Hammonds from Youth Command, who showed off his impressive bike skills and shared valuable safety tips.

Older students took a ride around the town footpath while the younger ones tackled the obstacle course at school.

A big thank you to Mrs Webster for organising the day, our amazing staff, and parents Will, Kristy, and Ashley who volunteered their time to help with bike and helmet checks and repairs. What a fantastic day of learning and fun!
