Geeveston Primary School offers a passionate, dedicated and experienced staff who support all our students to reach their full potential. We have many purpose built learning spaces, including a separate kindergarten area, a gym, library, teaching kitchen, computer lab, art room, teaching garden and expansive playgrounds and play areas. The variety of teaching spaces provide enormous opportunities

for our K-6 students who are involved in a number of programs that enhance their classroom learning including the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program, Premier's Reading Challenge, the Song Room music lessons and visiting coaches for a number of sports. These activities are conducted in an environment that fosters growth, encouragement and a sense of achievement for all students. We also run a weekly Launching into Learning (LIL) program aimed at learners aged Birth to 5 years and their parents/carers. This program offers a unique opportunity for children to engage in play based learning within the school environment allowing the smooth transition to school. Our 5/6 class is learning about the properties of light and today we were investigating the best ways to make light shine around corners. We were also using prisms to refract light to determine how it affects the intensity of the beam.

Our students are so lucky to have beautiful fresh fruit available every day. The choices vary from apples and bananas to melons and berries. It is a popular little snack before school, at fruit break and on the way out for recess or lunch. The fruit is donated by local businesses and then prepared by our wonderful TAs during breakfast club.
