Greater Hume includes the towns of Culcairn, Henty, Holbrook, Jindera and Walla Walla as well as surrounding smaller villages and rural communities. We are broadening our online presence to better help connect to and engage with our customers. This page will be updated with the latest events, attractions and things to see and do. While this page is an open forum, it is also a family friendly one.

NRMA EV CHARGERS NOW OPERATIONAL

The upgraded NRMA electric vehicle charging stations at the Holbrook Submarine Precinct are now operational.

The upgraded facility now features four fast-charging bays, allowing more electric vehicles to charge at the same time.

Greater Hume Council thanks the community and travellers for their patience and understanding while the upgrade works were completed.

We look forward to seeing the upgraded charging station supporting more EV drivers as they travel through our region.

NRMA EV CHARGER UPDATE - SCHEDULED POWER OUTAGE

A reminder that there will be a scheduled power outage at the Holbrook Submarine Precinct tomorrow, Sunday, 2 August, as part of the final stage of the EV charger upgrade.

During the outage:
⚠️ No electric vehicle charging will be available.

We apologise for the temporary inconvenience and thank you for your patience while these important works are completed.

The good news is that the wait is almost over, with the new upgraded charging facility expected to be switched on Monday, 3 August.

The completed upgrade will provide four fast-charging bays, allowing more electric vehicles to charge at the same time with typical charging times of around 30 to 45 minutes.

Thank you for your understanding as we complete this exciting improvement for our community and visitors.

THE SUN AND THE MOON ARE DANCING

The excitement is building in Jindera!

Opening night of The Sun and the Moon are Dancing at the Jindera Pioneer Museum is now fully booked, with all exhibition tickets for Saturday 1 August allocated. Thank you to everyone who has secured a place.

Missed out? You can still be part of the magic.

The Jindera Lantern Walk remains open to everyone and no ticket is required to join the walk. Starting at 6pm from the Village Green, the lantern procession will make its way through the streets of Jindera before arriving at the museum.

If you can't experience the exhibition on opening night, you'll have plenty of opportunities to visit throughout the week.

The Sun and the Moon are Dancing will be on display from Sunday 2 August to Sunday 9 August.

Opening hours:
• Daylight viewing: 10am - 3pm (museum entry fees apply and includes access to the museum)
• Twilight viewing: 5pm - 7pm daily
• $10 adults/concessions
• $5 children
• $25 family

Step inside this spectacular inflatable garden of colour, pattern and light and experience the Jindera Pioneer Museum in a whole new way.

Whether you join the Lantern Walk, visit during the day or experience the exhibition at twilight, this is a unique winter event not to be missed in Greater Hume.

Contractors have turned the existing EV Charges today off to move forward with the upgrade.

We apologise for the temporary inconvenience and appreciate your patience while these final works are completed.

The upgrade to the electric vehicle charging facilities at the Holbrook Submarine Precinct is almost complete, with the new fast chargers expected to be operational from Monday, 3 August.

As we move into the final stage of the project, please note the following:
• Saturday, 1 August - The existing EV chargers will be removed.
• Sunday, 2 August - A scheduled power outage will take place and no charging will be available.
• Monday, 3 August - The new fast chargers are expected to be switched on in the afternoon.

Lantern Walk details!
If you are coming to the Lantern Walk on Saturday night, here's a few things you might need to know.
👥We are expecting between 300 - 500 people
⚡Bring your lantern!
👨🏾‍🎤We are gathering at the Jindera Village Green from 5.30pm. There will be music, singing and traditional songs to learn, led by members of the Albury City Band and the Sing Australia Choir.
🚶🏻‍♀️The walk will commence at 6pm. It's look like a clear but cold night so RUG UP!
🏮There will be a small number of lanterns for sale if you haven't had the chance to make one ($20 each, bring cash)
🚶‍♂️The walk will finish at the Jindera Museum. If you have your pre-booked ticket you will be able to come into the museum to see the giant lantern display (these tickets are now all taken, but you can see the installation every day from August 2 - 9).
✅If you don't have a ticket, you can still join the walk! (Just no entry into museum)
🌭There will be some food available for purchase at the museum for those who booked their entry for the night.
🎟 To get into museum after the walk, you will need to show your trybooking ticket at the door, either on paper or on your phone.

PLANNED POWER OUTAGE - GREATER HUME VISITOR INFORMATION CENTRE AND SUBMARINE MUSEUM, THURSDAY, 30 JULY 2026

Please be advised that the Greater Hume Visitor Information Centre and Holbrook Submarine Museum will be closed Thursday, 30 July as there is a planned power outage.

The Information Centre and Submarine Museum will open as normal on Friday, 31 July.

JINDERA IS LIGHTING UP

Get ready for a magical week in Jindera as the Jindera Pioneer Museum hosts this year’s Lantern Walk on Saturday 1 August.

Inspired by the German tradition of Laternelaufen, this free community event celebrates light, kindness and connection, bringing the community together for an evening of lanterns, music and celebration.

The evening will culminate at the Jindera Pioneer Museum with the world premiere of The Sun and the Moon are Dancing - a spectacular large-scale installation of giant colourful lanterns transforming the museum grounds into a magical display of light and colour.

The Sun and the Moon are Dancing will be on exhibition at the Jindera Pioneer Museum from Saturday, 1 August until Sunday, 9 August, giving visitors the opportunity to experience this incredible installation throughout the week.
