Today the Stage 1 Kingy Coastal Guardians group participated in our first STEM: Coastal Guardians Citizen Science Dolphin Census with Miss Ferguson. Unfortunately, no dolphins were spotted but the data collected is beneficial as it provides a much-needed baseline to protect these beautiful marine mammals. The students were lucky enough to spot a huge school of sea mullet and humpback whales out the back. The Kingy Coastal Guardians are looking forward to exploring Dolphin Research some more in Beach and Creek Week in Term 3.

🌟 Feel Good Friday! 🌟

Today, we received an email from one of our parents letting us know their child was unwell and wouldn’t be attending school. This thoughtful mum wrote, “Perhaps you could give the food to a child who might enjoy sushi and pizza today.” 🍣🍕

It truly takes a village, and we’re so grateful for our caring community who always find beautiful ways to pay kindness forward. 💖 Thank you to all our parents and carers for your kindness and support-you make our school a wonderful place! 🙌✨

Our Stage 1 students are having a wonderful time at the Tweed Regional Museum's 'The Wiiyaan' exhibit. The Wiiyaan, are an unbroken line of origin, the Ancestors of the Tweed Bundjalung. Over the last several years the local Tweed Aboriginal community has created digital and material illustrations to ensure the perpetuation of the traditional stories of the Wiiyaan and other Lore. They were given to Elders and Knowledge holders to be a catalyst for transfer to younger generations. The exhibit was curated by Bijang Slabb.

It was lovely to receive feedback just now from the museum about how respectful our students are. Well done, Kingy Kids.
