The Council area is centred around the River Murray in South Australia with its base located in Renmark. Major horticultural and viticultural packers and processors market local produce to both the international and domestic market and provide significant employment opportunities to the local community. Tourism is also an important part of the local economy and this is centred mainly on water based activities on the River Murray, namely houseboats, water skiing and fishing. Local heritage is also important and the Paddle Steamer Industry is located in Renmark and operates regular cruises for the public.

🏆🏉 Paringa Oval is Grand Final ready! 🏉🏆

It’s been a challenging year for Renmark Paringa Council’s Open Space Team, with unprecedented rainfall creating plenty of challenges when it comes to keeping our ovals and open spaces in top condition.

But their hard work has paid off, with Paringa Oval looking absolutely spectacular ahead of this Saturday’s Murray Valley Football Netball League Grand Final! 🌱👏

The team has been busy with a range of preparation works, including mowing, fertilising, rabbit control, divot repairs, red sand application and turf treatments to give the playing surface the best possible finish.

And seeing the oval in such great shape is even more special with the mighty Paringa Swans taking on Brown’s Well in the big game.

We’ll also have one of our own out on the field, with Council’s Fraser Peters pulling on the red and white! ❤️🤍

Good luck to all the footballers and netballers competing on the day. We hope everyone has a fantastic Grand Final and enjoys a great day of local sport!
