Tomorrow night at Rosny Library!
Last night Launceston Library and Kingston Library hosted Australian Poetry Slam Workshops. 🎤
These workshops help participants get ready to perform at Australian Poetry Slam Heats – which are happening around the state next week. The Heats are open to anyone, even if you're not able to make it to a workshop. Register for free in the link below.
During the workshops, participants explored what poetry is and how it can be used to express ideas, emotions, stories and experiences.
They discussed slam poetry as a performance-based style of poetry that focuses on voice, rhythm, storytelling and audience connection.
Participants were encouraged to experiment with language, imagery and personal experiences while developing their own pieces.
They also explored the creative process, including where ideas come from, drafting and refining work, and building confidence to share poetry aloud.
There are two more free workshops this week:
Burnie Library – Wednesday 9 September at 5:30 pm
Rosny Library – Thursday 10 September at 5:30 pm
