The Bulga Rural Fire Brigade extends its warmest congratulations to Joe Hanlon on his successful appointment as Captain. With over 20 years of experience across multiple areas within the NSW Rural Fire Service, Joe possesses a wealth of knowledge and exceptional leadership qualities, characterised by kindness, compassion, and a commitment to supporting both new and seasoned members, rendering him an invaluable asset. Joe has already showcased his innovative approach by presenting several outstanding ideas to enhance training, modernise our facilities, and strengthen our community engagement. We are delighted and excited for this new chapter in our Brigade's history and eagerly anticipate the opportunities ahead as we continue to rebuild, support our team, and serve our community.

Last night we held our Annual General meeting.

Congratulations Scott Perrett (Pez)who was awarded with our Member of the year for his contribution to Bulga Rural Fire service and the community in the last 12months

Pez has attended many call outs, section 44’s. He was deployed to Victoria and attended many HRs He is also currently undertaking CFR training with NSW ambulance to add to his abilities to always go above and beyond for not only our brigade but the wider Rural Fire service community.

Pez was also voted back in as our President on the executive committee. We are certain Pez will continue to strive to improve our brigade and serve our community to the fullest.

Crews headed back out today to continue their blacking out and back burning efforts on the Garland Valley Fire along with assistance from the air.

Bulga 1 with Pez and Tash responded to a grass fire at Garland Valley this afternoon. The warm weather still and strong winds this afternoon pushed this up quite quickly resulting in multiple appliances from Broke Rural Fire Brigade, Whittingham Rural Fire Brigade, Howes Valley, Belford, Putty and even Colo Heights responding.

Crews put in back burns over the afternoon and into the evening and will be back out again tomorrow along with Air crews to continue slow and contain the fire.

Putty Road is closed in both directions at Milbrodale, south of Singleton, due to a car and motorcycle crash.

The road is closed between Milbrodale Road and Upper Colo Road.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area and use an alternative route.

Emergency services are on site and traffic crews are attending.
