🔬🌱 Science Week at Sunnybank SHS! 🌱🔬

Science Week was all about getting hands-on, asking questions and discovering science beyond the classroom!

With this year’s theme, Seeds of Science, our UQ Science Ambassadors and Senior Science students brought science to life with a fantastic range of interactive activities during lunchtime. From exploring scientific concepts to tackling practical challenges, there were plenty of opportunities for students to get involved, experiment and have fun.

It was fantastic to see so many students getting involved, asking questions and discovering just how exciting science can be! 🧪✨

🌺 Our Community Remembers 🌺

Today, our school had the honour and privilege of attending the Our Community Remembers event at the Sunnybank RSL Sub Branch, reflecting on past conflicts and honouring those who have served.

We are grateful for the opportunity for our students to participate alongside other local high schools, laying wreaths and delivering commemorative speeches alongside veterans, families and community members.

We are incredibly proud of our student representatives, who represented our school with dignity and respect and helped us honour those who have given so much in service to others. 🌺

🎓💚 50 Days to Go! 💛🎓

The countdown is on for our Year 12 students! Today we celebrated the Final 50 with an afternoon full of fun, food, games, cake and plenty of laughs. 🎉

It was a chance to celebrate the journey our Year 12s have shared, the memories they’ve made and the exciting road ahead. From some friendly competition to a special presentation and words of encouragement from our Principal, there was plenty to smile about!

As they begin their final weeks at Sunnybank State High School, we hope they take the time to enjoy every moment, make lasting memories and look forward to all the places their journey will take them. 🌟

What does the world look like Through My Eyes? 👀

Sunnybank SHS is inviting local primary students (Grades 4–6), Sunnybank SHS students and staff to enter our photography competition and capture a moment, place or detail that shows the world from your perspective. 🌏📷

Selected photographs will be showcased at our Arts Showcase Evening in Term 4, where visitors can vote for their favourite photograph and help choose our winners! 🏆

So, pick up your camera, get creative and show us the world through your eyes! 📸
